So one thing in common between straight men asking their future father in law for their duaghter’ hand in marriage have in common with gay men and lesbian women is that they are nervous. You never know how your future Father in Law will react. Sure, they may like you while you are dating and just bite their lip expecting nothing to come from your relationship with their little girl, but then again, you guys see it differently and actually know that marriage is in the future.
Although bribes are not a good term to use, but giving your soon to be dad a gift is a good way to help break the news. I was talking to a friend of mine last night who does Marketing consulting and he told me about a new Client of his who sells do it yourself home brewery kits that allow you to make beer on your own. When he was telling me about this kit and about the new client, I was like hey,,,, this is perfect for a gift to lighten up the tension and make it easier to ask your future father in law for his son or daughters hand in marriage. If he’s a beer drinker, then this gift is perfect. It allows him to not only brew his own beer in his own home, but he gets to design the taste, flavor, customize the bottles and customize the beer to his likings, not to mention brag to all of his friends that he brewed the beer himself and in his own home. I love this idea and think it is an absolutely perfect gift idea to break the news to your future Father in Law.
Now, I know you would probably be jealous of your Father in Law having his own home brewing kit, so here is the way to convince your partner that not only is it great for their dad, but why you need one too. Chances are you are having a bachelor party, ore bachelorette party, wouldn’t it save a ton of money for you if you just brewed all the beer yourself. Then after the party is over, why not get the next round going because there is always a sports season, a superbowl party, someone having a birthday, or really any other occasion where having freshly brewed beer in your home makes it easier and more cost effective to host an event. You may also want to mention how much you and your partner hate carrying heavy grocery bags. By brewing your own beer at home, you eliminate all the weight from having to shlep yet another liquid in a bag and save all those aches and pains from heavy grocery bags.
Anyways, you can see that I am in love with this brew your own beer at home idea and there are a million uses for it that are not only practical, but economical and fun. You can now be proud to serve your guests beer by being able to say that you made it yourself. Ohh and if your other half is the emotional and clingy type, you can even push it off as a thing you can both do together and then enjoy again when it is ready to celebrate your love and have alone time with.
