T Carter Wedding Music, Wedding Music, First Dance, Music Sale.

Ok, one thing most people forget and completelty get lost in is picking out their wedding music.  When you think about it, people normally only pick out one song or two or three songs but they don’t realize that you actually have about 5 or 6 songs that you have to pick out for your wedding and even though you have a band or a dj there to play the songs for you, you also have to memorize the songs, know them and practice with them.  I know that seems a bit ridiculous but lets go over all of the wedding songs you will need for your wedding,,,I know most of us have picked out our first dance song already but at the same time there are a lot more.

Sooo anyways, here are the songs that you need to pick out for your wedding music:  (These are the basic songs, there are others too).

  • Your first dance
  • The march down the aisle for the wedding party
  • The march down the aisle for the bride
  • Mother and Son Dance
  • Father and Daughter Dance
  • The song for the Parents of the Bride and Parents of the Groom to dance too
  • Then the song for you to exit your wedding to head to your honeymoon or leave for the night.

Anyways, all of these songs are fabulous and amazing and perfect for every wedding and I found a shop online called T Carter that not only has created CDs with popular songs and has them broken down onto CDs for you so you can listen to them ahead of time, but you can also use the cds to rehearse and practice dancing and walking to until your big day.  But why do you need to practice dancing and walking to your wedding music, because you don’t want to look like an idiot while it is playing and look like you don’t know how to dance, etc… in front of all of your friends and family and on your wedding videos.   Anyways, here is a break down of how to prep for your wedding music and wedding songs and click any of the links in this post and you’ll be taken to T Carter Wedding Music where you can buy cds with all of your wedding music already on the cds as well as get wedding suggestions and music suggesstions and ideas for music for the Mother and Son Dance, Father and Daughter Dance, the Dance for your Parents, for The Bride to walk down the aisle too (Jewish weddings don’t play here comes the bride), the first dance if you don’t have something picked out, music to listen to while you are leaving and for your wedding party to walk down the aisle too.  The best part though is that they break them out into individual cds for you as well so you don’t have to guess what is the right song for the right person.  The only words of advice I have for picking your music though is to pick what you and your partner want to listen to and have at your wedding and not listen to others.  It is your big day and you need to make it so that you hear what you want to hear and you hear the music at your wedding that you will want to hear everytime you want to watch your wedding videos again and again for the rest of your life.  One thing you will always remember is your wedding music so that is why it is important to pick the songs that you love and not worry about what other people think.

  • Your first dance – This one you can do traditional or you can have a dj or buy a computer program to remix a funny song and do a funny and memorable dance with your partner to surprise your guests.  I love both ideas and no matter what you do your guests will love it.
  • The march down the aisle for the wedding party-  For this music, pick something that not only brings out emotion and makes people smile, but pick something not too happy and not down or slow and make sure it is about love or makes you think love and excitement.  Think of mideval times and make it so everyone gets excited for the wedding couple and makes them want to cry during the wedding ceremony.
  • The march down the aisle for the bride -  Pick something that makes people emotional like Canon or something that is unique or stands out.  Use something with bells or something that has a clear tune and make sure it is pretty, full or empty and no where near in the middle like a normal song.  You want to bring out everyone’s emotions and get everyone crying.
  • Mother and Son Dance – Pick something slow, stay away from waltzes and using anything about romance.  Slow songs and sings about mothers or even showtunes and classical music without words are perfect for this.
  • Father and Daughter Dance – This is perfect for Frank Sinatra Ballads or even anything about Fathers and Daughters.  This is a song for the Father to give his daughter away so make it about love and protection and let him be emotional and not too fast.  Perfect for slow songs and slow dances.
  • The song for the Parents of the Bride and Parents of the Groom to dance too.  Depending on their age and if they know how to dance, pick a waltz or a slow song or even if you want to get everyone dancing right after, get them to learn how to swing dance and make it fun.  You could even have them change partners during the dance.  You can actually let them pick their own music for this one too since they are the ones who will have to be the ones dancing lol.
  • Then the song for you to exit your wedding to head to your honeymoon or leave for the night.

Most people know to decorate their wedding aisle and use urns, flowers and sometimes ribbons or bows or archs or other things, but what a lot of people don’t realize is that if you are doing an outdoor or indoor wedding, you actually have a lot more you can do to decorate the wedding aisle without making it too cluttered or tacky.

Wedding Guest Books and Wedding Guest Signing Books

Ok I completely forgot and just realized that I never actually recommended or picked out a single guest book or guest sign in book for weddings or for wedding planners.  I cannot believe I completely missed recommending a couple of really cool or traditional guest books for your wedding.

Save the Date Magnets – Where to Buy Where to Avoid!

So one product that I have always loved for wedding announcements is the Save the Date Magnets that you can have customized for your wedding with your date checked off on it.  Not only do the save the date magnets work great because people stick them on their fridge so that they remember the wedding and to not make plans over your big day, but you can also get ones with picture frames, ones that let them fill in other important dates around your wedding, you can check off when to order your wedding present if you want to add in a joke and you can also make random notes on other days on the save the date magnet as well which is something that I absolutely love about them. However, there are a few things to remember when sending out your save the date magnets.

1.  Send a picture of yourself with it for underneath or inside the magnet.  I just think it is a nice touch and because a lot of people use save the date magnets to announce their wedding day and even sometimes that they are getting married, it makes it an even better surprise and more meaningful for the people who you are inviting to your wedding.

2.  Check the magnets to make sure that the printer who printed your customized save the date magnets remembered to mark the right date on the magnets.  They do make mistakes so catch their mistakes before you send them out.

3.  Don’t forget to include your phone number and the address of the place you are getting married at.  Its not a bad idea either to include an email address or the address and number of your wedding planner if you have one so people can rsvp and remember to rsvp if something changes and they cannot make it or are able to make it last minute.

Personalized Jone Soda Bottles & Jones Soda Cocktail Recipes with Alcohol

So after that horrible experience…well horrible drinks….at paramount kings dominion, I was inspired to rediscover a drink that was actually sweet and tasted good enough to drink and not get sick to your stomach.  When thinking of a way to present drinks that were alcoholic and sweet and able to tie into a wedding website I was completely baffeled until I remembered being at a party one time and seeing that the host has the labels on their bottles of Jones Soda customized to have their pictures and their own sayings on the bottles.

I thought that this was a seriously cool and although Jones Sodas are seriously sweet and sugar loaded, they are still easily tolerated and actually can taste great when mixed with cocktails, so when I was looking through the Jones Soda sites, I found where you can order customized bottles of Jones Soda with your picture or your wedding or engagement picture or even your wedding announcement on the bottle to make it even more customized and cool for your guests. I actually used to be addicted to Jones Soda, not literally Addicted to it, but I loved their Sugar Free Zero Calorie Cream Soda and the best part is that Jones Soda uses Pure Cane Sugar and not those harmful chemical sweeteners in other sodas,,,but seriously, it is a bit better for you in my opinion even though I still drink Diet Coke a lot.   Jones also comes in a ton of normal flavors like Root Beer, Cola, Diet, Cherry, Cream Soda, Orange and each holiday they create new flavors like Potatoe Pancake or Candy Corn or even random flavors and colors that I am going to ignore, and if you try them the right way and mix them the right way and serve the sodas in the personalized Jones Soda Bottles, your guests at your bridal shower, rehersal dinner or even engagement party are going to go crazy,,,not to mention love the drinks and the Jones Soda Bottles with your picture on them.

But what good is having the customized bottles of Jones soda if you don’t have any drink recipes to mix them with for your party so I wanted to take a little bit and share a few of my favorite jones soda cocktail recipes so that you can not only serve personalized bottles of Jones Soda to your Guests, but you can also get them drunk and get the party going even faster,,,,just remember to drink and find a designated driver so noone drinks and drives and risks hurting anyone else or themselves.  Also make sure that if you are serving alcohol you know the age limit in the area you live in so you do not break the law.

Jones Cream Soda and Sugar Free Cream Soda Cocktails:

Chocolate Vanilla Cake – Take your jones cream soda and mix it with a shot of creme de cacao chocolate liquor and pour a bit of Absolute Vanilla in about a shot or shot and a half then mix or just pour the liquor into the soda in a cup with ice to get a layered effect.

Sweet and Sour – Take your Jones Cream Soda and pour in half a shot of amaretto to make it sweet and if you want it a bit sour, try some tequilla mix without the alcohol and you get a weird tasting cocktail and liqour drink that some people like and some people don’t…take a risk and serve it and who knows, maybe you’ll have created someone’s new favorite drink.

Jones Strawberry or Fruit Flavor Drinks

Jones Fizzing Margaritas – I love these! You can serve them frozen or on the rocks so they fizz.  Take Patron or Jose Cuervo and mix it in with Jones Strawberry Soda or any other fruit flavor and add in a splash or an ounce of Margarita Mix and serve on the rocks to keep it fizzy or serve it over your blended ice and mix it in the blender again to make it a frozen non fizzy swet and sour margarita.

Any Flavor with Vodka – I haven’t actually found a flavor of Jones, including cola and diet cola, that doesn’t taste amazing with Vodka.  My favorite is Absolute Vodka with it since it is thicker…just make sure to keep your vodka in the freezer before you try to serve and mix it.

Cola and Diet Cola

Vodka and Diet – enough said,,,its a classic that you cannot go wrong with…just like Vodka Tonic which you can also do with Jones.

Rum and Cola – Since Jones make a cola and diet cola that taste great, you can also serve the classics like Rum and Cola or Rum and Diet Cola.

SeaBreeze and other Sprite based Cocktails

Just use the Jones Lemon or Citrus sodas and you can serve everyones favorite Stoli Raspberry and Citrus Soda or even the cranberry, citrus and vodka seabreeze styled drinks.

Asian Wedding Favors, Asian Themed Wedding Ideas

So it seems like more and more these days people are wanting to include and create exotic themes or other cultures, besides their own heritage in their weddings or wedding themes.  Although I think it is important to use your own heritage, I am in love with tying in other cultures to and making something exotic out of your big day.  Some examples of this are serving unique foods or doing different themed appetizers like thai food or moroccan foods, or even using desserts and cakes from other countries like the French Croquembouche wedding cake.  (The Croquembouche is large pile of round dough balls covered in honey and pulled sugar and stacked high, then decorated with flowers, cake toppers, etc… and just fabulous).

Anyways, the more I am looking at how small the world is getting and how much people are falling in love with other cultures and themes, the more I am loving using other countries traditions and using their themes and ideas and incorporating them into our own weddings.  I was watching Americas Next Top Model starring Tyra Banks today and it was the season where they went to China.

These girls had never gotten to experience anything like the Asian culture before and chances are that many of them never would have if it weren’t for the show.  Getting to live in another country, even for a short time is an amazing experience and if any of those girls were engaged, I can almost gaurantee that they would have wanted to use their experience living in China to help bring in some Asian themes to their weddings.

My friend Scott is also the same way.  He married his wife (I know, straight people, but bare with me) who is asian and although I didn’t know them at the time, Scott fell in love with their culture and when he gets to go visit their family in Asia, he always sends back pictures of hot springs, the food, the dancers and everything under the sun.  The Asian culture really spoke to him and influenced him soo much that he became an Asian food snob with restaurants back here in the USA. Beach Wedding Ideas and Favors

So it’s just about summer time and if you’re doing the wedding on the beach this year, I have been thinking and these are some things that only you could get away with.  The first thing is pastels.  I absolutely hate pastels for anything but the beach.  It is one of the only places on earth where they look pretty and can actually match the ocean, restaurants, old people (just kidding), and really a relaxed and happy mood.  The beach for me means relaxation, kicking back, frozen drinks, hot passions and some fantastic foods with overdone and rich flavors.  Pastels, although I hate to admit it, do have their purpose in relaxing your mind and mood.  Look at Bermuda for example, it is all done in pastel from the buildings, to the sand to the ocean and even some of the fish and corals look pastel.  Pastels do somewhat mean the beach and at the same time, if you are getting married on the beach and choose to not use rich greens, blues and beuatifull full bodied colors, then Pastels work in this one situation.  So anyways, if you are looking for a few things to make your pastel or regular beach wedding special, here are some beach wedding ideas and favors to delight your guests and give that fiishing touch. 

So these are a fabulous pre favor idea that I love.  They are individually wrapped and each chocolate seashell set comes with everything you need to be able to create these fabulous and gorgeous little treat bags for your guests.
