Maria and Jeffreys Salon in Chicago Illinois – Broadway Street

So I just went and got my hair cut at this little Salon I had been to a couple times before.  It is called Maria and Jeffrey’s Salon and is just outside of Boystown on Broadway.  All I can say is that Jeffrey is seriously talented.  Both times that he has cut my hair I have walked out feeling like a supermodel.  I have also seen his work on both men and women and he is amazing.  I have never seen a person walking out dissatisfied and although I have only seen 10 other hair cuts in person from him, each one was flawless.

When walking down broadway, you can find Maria and Jeffrey’s salon in Chicago by walking up a small black metal staircase above the hot dog shop.  There is a discoball in the window and hunny, when you walk out you are seriously disco club ready to roll.

I have also had the pleasure of seeing Maria’s work and although she has not cut my hair yet, she is just as good as Jeffrey.

Now, why am I reviewing a hair salon in Chicago for a wedding site?  Because, on your wedding day you seriously need to have good hair.  I know a ton of couples that have not only flown home to get their hair done or at least styled to find what looks best so they can show their stylists in the city where they currently live, but now adays people are flying in hairstylists for their weddings almost all the time.  I mean seriously, your wedding day will have photos shot that last your lifetime and you cannot risk not having perfect hair on your big day.  This goes for men and women alike.  On my big day, I am seriously going to trust my look to Jeffrey and if you can afford a couple hundred dollars, or you live in Chicago, I would definitely recommend bringing in Jeffrey to make your hair perfect for your perfect wedding.

I honestly believe that he can ensure you will have the perfect hair and style wether it is an updo, long and straight, hair for a man where you need bounce if it is longer, or short hair that is clean and perfect.  So anyways, if you need a haircut for any occasion, a touch up or fix up and are in Chicago or can fly someone in, Jeffrey is your guy.  Also, don’t forget to mention you found him on Gayweddinggear.com.  I told him I would gladly put a review on my blog today as I am loving the hair cut he gave me.

Order Tuxedos Online Here – Perfect Fits

So I was a bit skeptical when I first heard that a tuxedo rental company was doing business online. After a decent amount of consideration if this is a good idea (ordering a tux or suit for your wedding online) I said what the hell, if someone wants to order, it is their own fault. To my surprise, I posted a couple links on the main site and sure enough a few tuxes got rented from the store above (click the banner to visit them). I was also very pleased to hear back from one of the website visitors that they had a fantastic experience with ordering their tuxedo online. They not only looked fabulous, but he said how easy it was and after all his measurements were taken, he put on his tux and it fit perfectly first time. So, I’m not as skeptical about ordering tuxes and suits online any more, but I do think that you should do a few things before ordering them.

It is a good idea to order through this link at the following store Tuxedos Direct if you cannot get your kids or partners (same thing sometimes really) to actually go to the store, if you need to order for someone from a long distance away and you need to make sure they get the correct matching tuxedo, if you want to save some money as Tuxedos Direct has amazingly low prices on designer tuxedos and will leave your bank account full and the tuxedo wearer looking hot.

Now, the short list of things to remember or do before you order your tuxedo online.

1. Take your measurements or go to a tailor and have them take your measurements. You may also want to look at your favorite suit jacket to find out what feels best on you already, like a 44R for example.

2. If you are using Tuxedos Direct to save money, visit a department store and or a tuxedo shop and try on the tuxedo you are going to be ordering so you know what it will look like and you can ensure you will get the perfect one.

3. Make sure that from the time your measurements are taken and you order your tuxedo to the time of the event, you watch your weight (both fat and muscle) as you want to make sure it still fits for the big day. This is standard advice though.

4. Women wear tuxedos nowadays too and Tuxedos Direct should be able to fit you as well. You could do a classic standard black or white, but if it is not your wedding, why not make a splash and find a fun one.

5. Do not for get to ask the bride and groom if it is a vest or cumberbund and make sure you get the correct colors and patterns if you are in the bridal party or are a groomsman. You do not want to be the person who ends up not matching the rest of the party and the bride and groom never speak to again. Then again that could be a benefit if the bride becomes a bridezilla lol.

Anyways, my opinion about ordering a tuxedo online has changed and I now see many benefits to it and I hope you will to. It is not bad or scary and if you are specific about what you want or are looking for, you should not be disappointed.

Dual Name Checks for a combined bank account

So something every couple needs when they tie the knot is a dual bank account. With that said, you will also need a set of checks with both your names on them.  Although you can order checks from the bank,,,,why be boring?  Why not get checks that represent what the two of you are about.  You could do animal checks, classy checks, HRC checks, really any kind that represents who you are as a couple.  I found this one store online (click here) and they offer hundreds of designs of checks.  They have pretty much everything and if for some reason they do not have a design, you can actually upload your own, or even a photograph of yourselves, your animals, your kids, whatever you would like.  I highly recommend buying checks through this store, I have done it and love them.

Plus Sized Bridal Shoes, Dyeable and Non

So I found this site which caters to women as well as drag queens with a very easy to remember name. Designer Shoes.com. Now, I could care less what a queen may wear on stage, on your wedding day, you should wear proper wedding shoes. You want to be comfortable and you want something that fits well. This is why I fell in love with designershoes.com. Designer Shoes is located in the Boston area and I recently had the pleasure of going up there and meeting part of their staff.

Everyone there is gay friendly and they are very open to helping everyone find the perfect shoes. I also fell in love with their huge selection of plus sized bridal shoes which also included plus size dyable bridal shoes so that you can make sure your shoes will match your gown. (Ok I had to throw in a quick Wizard of Oz quote, this is a gay wedding supplies, favors and gifts blog afterall.) Anyways, Designershoes.com should be a must for everyone who plans on getting married and needs plus sized or extra wide wedding shoes for their big day. Click here to visit DesignerShoes.com and find your perfect plus size designer wedding shoes today.

Two Grooms Wedding Cake Topper Set

gay wedding cake topper set, huge selection, two grooms

Something every gay couple needs when they get married and decide to have a cake are gay wedding cake topper sets.

The unfortunate thing I always come across is that most companies and planners have to go and buy or recommend just going with separates. What I don’t get is why they haven’t just created a list of gay friendly wedding merchants like you can find in my gayweddinggear.com wedding shopping mall.

Gay wedding cake toppers are a very common thing now a days and there is no reason why a proper wedding planner cannot get you a pre-made set. I understand if you want something specific and have to buy two separate pieces like two guys or girls fishing eachother off the cake, etc… but if you want a classic two grooms or two brides cake topper set, and your planner doesn’t offer them, I would like to recommend buying them from this wedding cake topper store. Not only are they extremely gay friendly, but they have a fantastic selection of gay wedding two groom and two bride cake toppers and cake decorations. Also, if you do shop there, make sure you click this link first for this store as these referrals help to keep me being able to find products for your gay wedding and pay for the site and blog. Wedding cake toppers should be the least of your worries in your wedding planning and That’s My Topper has the perfect gay wedding cake topper for your big day.
