One of my favorite things about winter wedding fashions is that winter wedding clothing is all about vintage styles and metallic clothing colors.  You have to think and remember old styles in Hollywood from the 1920′s and Hollywood Glam and also 1970′s styled outfits as well.  Think Victor Victoria or even of Catherine Zeta Jones and Renee Zellweger in Chicago styled clothing and gowns.  You can also wear dark colored fur stoles or fake fur coats and jackets and you can also wear studio 54 styled 70’s disco clothing, but updated to be modern.  Winter weddings are about classic and vintage and they are about showing up in layers of clothing that are able to let you change looks when you take one off and have a brand new look that you didn’t expect to have on underneath.

When you arrive at the wedding you want to show off the long fur coat or a fur shawl with a long trench coat.  Try to have a silky or a satin lining inside the jackets or coats so that when you take it off to show a pencil styled skirt or piped gown or even just a layered or classic slinky styled metallic vintage Hollywood glamour gown, it’ll show it off and make everyone take a second glance.  Nothing looks sexier than those types of gowns and hair styles against a silk lined coat.

If you aren’t into piping or pencil skirts and tops for winter weddings, you cannot go wrong with gowns and vintage styled dresses in metallic golds, silvers and bronze colors.  Not only are these looks timeless and the colors ideal, but you also have a choice between gowns that are low cut in the back and have bottoms that flow together or define colors and fabrics in layers or you could always try to wear a vintage styled winter gown with petals or with layers or even just slinky fabric flowing down.  Think of the gowns you would see on Marilyn Monroe or even on the fun blond girl who sings the Chicago song from the movie version of the Broadway show Victor Victoria.

For winter wedding hairstyles, I always love classic looking but modern vintage style with waves, curls and bobby pins. One thing you can also pull off with a vintage gown and theme are accents for your hair as well.  Not only do these work well, but they are perfect for Winter Weddings.  Think Madonna in Evita, that is the classic look and style that we are going for. Now lets go over Winter Wedding Jewelry.

The jewelry for Winter Weddings should be vintage styled but also have some sort of modern twists to it if you are not able to afford authentic vintage jewelry with gemstones.

If you can do antique jewelry and can afford the gems then you should try to stick to jewelry in golds and silvers that match the metallic gold and silver gowns that you are wearing.  You also want to make sure that you don’t go modern but you wear vintage styled jewelry with a more modern feel so that your jewelry and outfit match and you don’t look out of place.

For gem stones, you’ll want to use emeralds or rubies to add in some color or if you are able to find dark purple amethysts, wear them to add in some color but make sure you have a large dark purple amathyst ring with a large stone as that is what will make amethyst and vintage metallics for together and look amazing.  If you decide to go with emeralds and emerald earrings you’ll want to wear emerald bracelets or bracelets with emerald accents and if you want to wear rubies and ruby earrings, match your ruby earrings with a dark red ruby and yellow gold ring with gold metallic gowns.  Do not match red rubies with silver gowns or wear them with silver jewelry for winter.  It not only looks awful for winter weddings but it is rude to wear and not nice to do to the bride.  It shows bitterness and anger towards the bride or married couple.

The other style that I love and that seems to work extremely well for winter weddings are the 1970′s styled clothing but with very modern twists, colors and fabrics.  You can use the amazing lines and silhouettes and really cool shoes, you probably shouldn’t wear platforms or fishbowl shoes but you can follow the style of lines and really cool shapes by wearing shoes with cool backs and sides or even modern styled heals.

For jewelry, find vintage styled but updated jewelry because the 70′s are over and you don’t want to show up in full bell bottoms and hippy styled jewelry looking like you just did a ton o cocaine on a dancefloor.  Instead, you could wear vintaged styled modern designs that are not only chic, but tie in the emo look and you’ll have a classic and fashionable winter wedding look.

Waxing Poetic Pearl Jewelry – Perfect modern wedding pearls

So I found out that my one friend who works for one of my favorite wedding vendors had parted ways with them and it kind of started my day out on a bad note. On a good note though he ended up going to work for a website that I had never heard of before called Waxing Poetic.  I really didn’t get why I would promote or talk about a site called waxing poetic but I knew there had to be a reason that he would tell me to just take a look without saying another word or answering my questions.  Not only did I take a look at the site but I was instantly inspired….I didn’t realize how well he knew me and my tastes.

Waxing Poetic is a site that sells modern styled jewelry with a very classic and somewhat antique twist.  The first few products I found when searching the waxing poetic website were the pearl necklaces and pearl bracelets.  Not only do I love how they are sort of dark and sort of emo goth looking but they are also classic and extremely classy looking.  With the new lines of fall and winter wedding gowns coming out, I could only see these bracelets and necklaces being used.

The waxing poetic pearl jewelry is absolutely 100% perfect and amazing for fall and winter wedding jewelry.  It is thick, darker, classic and antique.  They blend into the outfits perfect and highlight your wedding bands and rings as well as your outfits and gowns.   They can be used for bridesmaids gifts but also for the actual bride.

You can buy the smaller or the bracelets with fewer strands for the bridesmaids and the fuller jewelry for the bride and even get the longer necklaces for the Mother of the bride or Mother of the grooms.  Either way this jewelry is an absolute must have for everyone for their weddings.   If you look at almost any fall line or winter line, you are seeing dark colors, denim colors and the wedding gowns are using shadows and darker accents.  That is what makes the waxing poetic pearl jewelry absolutely perfect for just about any fall or winter wedding and because they have classic antique looks they will be in style and in fashion for just about every year in the future.

It is very rare to find jewelry that can last multiple seasons but I think that Waxing Poetic has found the way to solve that issue.  I love when people take antique and classic looks and make them modern, but also make them work and that is what Waxing poetic has done.  Although I have never shopped there and have no need to shop there right now, I do love their designs and highly recommend you check their store out.

I found this site called Heart’s Treasure by a referral of a friend of mine.  He runs a wedding marketing firm out of Boston Massachusetts with his partner and he fell in love with a bunch of the heartstreasure.com.  Not only does heartstreasure.com carry an amazing selection of bracelets for just about every occasion from weddings and mother of the bride bracelets to flower girl bracelets to christenings to faith, purity, family, hope and love.  Although Heartstreasure.com isn’t a merchant i would typically promote, since they seem a bit more religious than I like, when I saw the Hearts Treasure bracelets and the meaning behind the hearts treasure bracelets I had to share them.

Dolce and Gabbana Wedding Gifts and Birthday Gifts

Ok, so I have a huge weakness for Dolce and Gabbana. I remember when I saw my first piece of Dolce and Gabbana clothing and went absolutely insane. It was a belt that my friend wore to this night club after she got home from Paris and then all of the sudden no matter where I looked I saw Dolce and Gabbana everywhere and fell in love. The first piece of Designer clothing I ever tried on was actually a pair for D&G jeans and they not only fit perfectly and from there on in I could never resist Dolce and Gabbana again.

Now, before you freak out about the prices and costs and think I am insane for even considering spending that much money, especially when we are in a downed economy, I only shop there twice a year, once for my Birthday and once when I go to visit my sister in the west because there is a D&G and Dolce and Gabbana Store right by her house and I usually live pretty reasonably the rest of the year and save up for it. I also don’t really go crazy and buy $500 shirts, but instead I’ll buy a pair of shoes, a wallet and the famous Dolce and Gabbana or D&G dog tags that they put out each year. Those are seriously cool and very affordable.

Anyways, the reason why I am going crazy is I aw an add for this store called clickio or something and when I was looking through their site I saw an entire section of nothing but Dolce and Gabanna and the best part is it is all seriously discounted so now everyone can easily afford to buy themselves Dolce and Gabbana gifts and buy Dolce and Gabanna wedding presents for their friends and family members who are getting married and not have to worry about going broke.     Watches from Love and Pride, A Perfect Wedding Gift

    So I just realized something,,,I have been affiliated with Love and Pride for a very long time but I never actually recommend anything from them and I feel pretty horrible about that.  Love and pride has been an online retailer for many years for the gay community and they have some fantastic products for the gay community and I do believe still support us, so it is my turn to support them and start sharing some of their fabulous product lines with all of you.

    Crystal Tiaras for Spring Summer and Winter Weddings

    Sooo,,,,I got enough complaints about the halloween post below…everyone said that all the light up halloween pins were cute as can be and that they appreciate that I want to remind everyone to use them to keep their kids safe while they are running around the streets, I am also ok with the thanks for the idea of handing them out at Halloween parties and or as favors for your Halloween wedding, but come on, you don’t have to jump on me when I write something not about weddings or wedding products and supplies…heheheh I like to have a little fun and diversify or share products that I fall in love with as well.  Anyways, I do love all the emails and comments I got, and as per your request, I figured why not hit the wedding posts back up with something solid and royal.  Sooo…everyone….here we go.

    Crystal Tiaras for Spring, Summer and Winter Weddings and brides.

    Anyways, you may be asking yourself why I am calling this Crystal Tiaras for spring, summer and winter weddings and why I left out the autumn and fall brides.  The answer is simple.  Fall or Autumn is about browns, oranges and harvesting, not crystals.  I like to recommend beads and gems more for fall brides and fall bridal tiarras.

    I am loving this jewelry…Everyday Elegant

    So I was shopping around online for a gift for a few people and I came across a small store at etsy.com and absolutely fell in love with it. It is called Everyday Elegant and you can find it by clicking on this link.  What I really loved about the jewelry was all the local flare of the Chicago earings for both the Sox and the Cubs as well as the unique and original designs.  I fell in love with some of the black bracelets made of some sort of gem stone and accented with amber or peridot and I am definitely going to be buying a couple pieces for a gift for my Mom’s birthday in the next couple weeks.

    I believe that all of the jewelry at Everday Elegant is also handmade and the designers of it are absolutely some of the most talented jewelry designers I have seen.  The color combinations and stone patterns are simply amazing and really help to show how everyday people can wear jewelry that you would expect to see in high fashion shops like Harry Winston, Gucci, Sax, Neimans, etc…. In fact, some of it actually looks like a few pieces I saw at Neiman Marcus the other week when I was out shopping.

    Somehow this store has found a way to offer real gemstones with their original designs in a way that is not only fashionable, but affordable and jewelry that you will want to wear every day.  I hope they don’t mind, but I am going to steal a few pictures from their site of some of my favorite pieces (I didn’t look through the whole site yet) so I can show you what I mean by these pieces are an absolute must that every woman should have and every mother or girlfriend deserves.   Heck, it even works for men who want to cross dress and drag queens who live their everyday life as women.   I love the jewelry and if you visit the site, be ready to shop because I know you will love the jewelry at Everyday Elegance too.

    Check this bracelet out.  It is the perfect one for women who are in their black dress for a party or cocktails.  Because of the white pearls and accents, it is also the perfect bracelet for weddings (if you are not in it) as the white accents the black and the pearls really bring out the wedding spirit.  Then again, if you cannot tell I love associating weddings with pearls and thing everything wedding should have a pearl somewhere.

    This one is not made of gemstones but fabulous colored beads.  It is a gorgeous color scheme that is perfect for everyday wear in the spring or even an early summer wedding.   Hell it matches both seasons and the purple and pearl accents also make it an excellent bridesmaid and bridal party accessory if your bridesmaids gowns are blue or green.  Purple or Levndar even a periwinkle would make it match, but regardless of anything, this bracelet is fabulous.
