Anyways, a little less viscous and much more mature way to accomplish the back handed compliment is to completely screw over someone’s diet, especially if they lack willpower. Can you tell a theme with all this dieting and dieting posts and my need for some serious junk food and soon. LOL, I have become seriously catty lately lol and need some junk food or drinks. Maybe that is why these posts have been even more rambling than normal. Ok, I have been going to the gym and completely working my ass off at loosing weight. The issue is that even though I have been putting in a ton of work, I am still craving all this horrible for you junk food.

I’ll admit it, by gay standards I’m a fat girl, by straight standards I’m average or in shape. I do have to say, my instructor at the gym is an amazing inspiration. He always finds a way to let me know I am completely not in gay shape and make me feel guilty, even if I didn’t eat that day. Sounds horrible but to be honest, it is helping motivate me and for some reason the way he does it I am actually not offended and it actually keeps my diet somewhat on track.

The thing is though with my diet sticking on track, I end up craving and wanting junk food even more.

Yesterday I went on a date with this really hot guy, the issue is that he wanted to meet me at ACKC which is a designer and gourmet chocolate shop and wine bar in Logan Circle and to my surprise, I was actually able to avoid eating there, convince him to go somewhere else and attempt to eat healthy. The thing is that we ended up going to Proto (I think that is what it was called) and I ended up eating a pretty fabulous fettuccine with black truffles and raschera cheese. It was actually not bad and I am completely excited to go back, unfortunately my waist line is not excited and I should have gone straight back to gym after eating, but I was on a date and couldn’t look like a gym and calorie anorexic freak on a first date so I ate and enjoyed my dinner and basically all that is bullsh*t. I completely loved the meal and there was no way in heck I was actually heading back to the gym, instead I said lets get a large pizza to go and watch desperate housewives….the story was all true, except for the feeling bad about eating and I actually for the first time in my life I think avoided chocolate so hey, baby steps forward to a thiner and hotter me. Not that I am not seriously cute anyways lol.

So anyways, back to the purpose of this post.

I am seriously craving bad food and junk food and looking for reasons to break my diet left and right. Gifts for the Father of the Bride, Father in Law gifts.

Sometimes telling your Bride to Be’s Dad that you are marrying his daughter can be a scary thing. Even if you get along well and you are now entering into the competition for the love of his Baby girl and taking her away from him. No Dad wants to know or think that someone else will be taking care of his little girl, but to make it easier on him I always recommend having a talk with him one on one where you also give him a gift that shows you care and you will take care of his little girl.

It is ok to propose to your fiancé in public or in front of her family, but having the heart to heart conversation or asking for her Father’s permission should be something you do one on one to not only show respect to her Dad, but also to show him that you are man enough to take care of his little girl and also that you respect him enough to have the talk with him one on one without the protection of his wife or his daughter.

Combine it with a really nice Brandy, it’ll show you have class and you will also be able to provide for her and make sure she has better things in life, not to mention you might impress your new Father in Law. The only time I really don’t recommend this gift or the Brandy idea is if your new Father in Law is a recovering smoker or alcoholic. Then you may want to try the other gift ideas above.

What is the difference between a wedding gift and a regular gift.

One thing people don’t often think of, or when they have to go shopping for a wedding gift for the first time is what do I buy the couple or the person who invited you? The thing is it isn’t what you should buy for them, but what is the difference between buying that person or couple a gift for their birthday vs. their wedding or Christmas.

The thing is that Christmas and Birthday gifts are personal and for the person and for what they like. When you buy a wedding gift, you aren’t actually saying thank you for inviting me to the wedding, but you are buying them something that will help them with their new lives and their partnership. The gift you buy them shouldn’t be something for them because they like it or because it is their hobby, but should help to benefit their partnerships, make their new lives easier or even help with their new home if they bought a house together.

Weddings are celebrating the happy couple’s life together, not their birth or a holiday where it is all about them, the gift should be about their new life and how you can help make their new life easier and better. This is why housewares are usually popular for weddings and wedding couples and to be honest, housewares, mortgage payments, towels, plates, and other things for the home or the couple really help them with their new life together and are completely perfect for helping them with their new lives together.

Now, buying something because it is their hobby is completely good, but at the same time, why not tie it into their house as well. If they like a tv show, get them a piece of art or some coffee mugs with it or even something fun for their game room if they have one. If they are into cooking and have all the pots and pans, find a hard to get recipe book or cookbook or cooking classes that they have to take together, etc… to help with their marriage and relationship.

Shopping for weddings is a bit different than shopping for an individual and the gifts should be about the couple and their life together, not about them or what they like and luckily, most couples actually make it even easier to shop for them by registering at stores like Williams Sonoma, Bed Bath and Beyond, even Target or lower end discount stores so you can take the guess work out and not end up buying the same gift someone else already bought for the couple.

Although it is rude to ask what the couple wants for their wedding, it is not rude to ask where they are registered at so you can go find the perfect gift they already picked out. Find out where they registered and then pick out what you think they would like the most and then bring it to the wedding and wish the happy couple the best of luck. By them registering and making your life easier when having to find something to buy them, everyone will have a much happier wedding, and btw, if they only register at high end stores, don’t feel bad about working the bar at their wedding since they worked your wallet with the wedding gifts lol. I think it is rude to only register at expensive stores since not everyone is well off, but then again, if you are only friends with rich people, you don’t have to worry.

so having the flu completely and utterly sucks. Ok, so I have a huge weakness for Dolce and Gabbana. I remember when I saw my first piece of Dolce and Gabbana clothing and went absolutely insane. It was a belt that my friend wore to this night club after she got home from Paris and then all of the sudden no matter where I looked I saw Dolce and Gabbana everywhere and fell in love. The first piece of Designer clothing I ever tried on was actually a pair for D&G jeans and they not only fit perfectly and from there on in I could never resist Dolce and Gabbana again.

Now, before you freak out about the prices and costs and think I am insane for even considering spending that much money, especially when we are in a downed economy, I only shop there twice a year, once for my Birthday and once when I go to visit my sister in the west because there is a D&G and Dolce and Gabbana Store right by her house and I usually live pretty reasonably the rest of the year and save up for it. I also don’t really go crazy and buy $500 shirts, but instead I’ll buy a pair of shoes, a wallet and the famous Dolce and Gabbana or D&G dog tags that they put out each year. Those are seriously cool and very affordable.

Soo after looking at the Worlds Largest Gummy Bear post I did yesterday, I couldn’t help but look through that store and find even more cool stuff that you cannot live without. Father and Mother of the Bride Picture Frames

So I came across these photo frames and absolutely love the idea behind them. They are an inexpensive gift and an absolutely perfect gift idea and surprise for the father and mother of the bride when your wedding photos come in.

The father of the bride and mother of the bride picture frames are a fabulous gift set from Eliza Fig and only cost $30 for the set. The picture frames are padded black twill trimmed with a pure and clean white grosgain ribbon and I believe that it is also embroidered.

The father of the bride and mother of the bride frames have a black velvet back and can either stand on their own or they can also be hung on the wall if the happy mother and father want to hang it.

I personally love this and think that you will to. Look at how cool it is to be able to put the father and mother pictures with their boy or girl and look how happy the samples are in the picture. This is a sure fire way to let your parents be able to remember the day their little boy or girl got married and they can reflect on the good job they did raising you by reliving the happiest moment of your life over and over.

The other place I can easily see the father of the bride frame and mother of the bride frame being a perfect fit in someone’s home is directly after the wedding, or even the first couple years, is in the parents bedroom….hehehe sounds creepy right? It really isn’t.

The way I would do it is sneak into their house or go over to share the wedding photos with your parents and excuse yourself to use the bathroom. When your parents are busy looking at the photos, go up to their bedroom and place the Father of the Bride Picture Frame on your Dad’s nightstand on his side of the bed and the Mother of the Bride photo frame on her night stand on her side of the bed. Now make sure you do not tell them so that when they are ready for bed that night they get a fabulous surprise.

Bonding with your Mother in Law – Also, Gifts ideas for the Mother of the Groom

One thing most Brides never know how to do correctly is to ensure to their new Mother in Law that they will take care of their baby boy just like they would. This goes for both straight women and gay men. Mother’s always worry and why wouldn’t they. Noone can love their boy like his own mom. At least not in the eyes of the mom. This is something that Bride’s do not always consider.

I don’t think that they should try and think about it, however it is hard for a mom to let go, however if you do a few things before you marry her boy, you can easily make the best impression and help to reinsure your mother in law that you will take good care of her boy.

The first thing to do is take a cooking course. If you can show her you can feed her son a good meal and take care of him, she will not only be impressed (even if it is secret), but at least she will know that he will eat well. I don’t care if you can only make one meal, learn to make it and make it well. You can always fake with take out later on at some point. Or you can check out my post on beef wellington in this blog. The next thing you need to do is to show your future Mother in Law that you care and respect her. Let her know what an amazing job she did raising your future husband. Tell her how much of a good man he is and how she did an amazing job raising him. This gives her pride in knowing she did a good job as a parent and created someone that not only she could love, but others could fall in love with too. One thing a Mother always loves to know is that she did her very best and succeeded.

Another thing you can do is about a week or maybe even a month before the wedding, send her a gift or set up a lunch and give her something like this.
