Freeze Dried Red Wedding Rose Petals

So everyone always obsesses ovr having to have white rose petals or even lavender, etc… petals at their wedding. And although I am all for traditional, I actually prefer to use deep red rose petals if you are having a white wedding.
Now, you may be thinking that sure, red rose petals are more for the honeymoon as they are sexy and sultry, but also remember that red is a color for love on Valentines day and always makes you melt. Red also can signify blood and blood ties/bonds which can represent your partnership with your lover.
However, the thing that I like most about deep red rose petals in a white wedding is the gorgeous contrast that they make not only with your beaded gown, but with the white walkway, etc… as you glide over them. The dark red color will not only help to make your dress or tuxedo stand out more and show the gorgeous train off, but they also add some serious definition to the picture.
It is true that red was a hot color in the 1980s, however, that was red dresses, etc… Not just rose petals to contrast and bring out all the white in the room. Unlike in the 1980s when they completely overdid the red destroying, if you use red properly, it actually ads class and elegance to your big day instead of making it campy and overpowering.
So here is how I recommend using the red petals. Make it a theme that your partner doesn’t know about. Start by having the flower girl toss the red petals as she walks down the aisle prepping for the bride or groom. Then make sure everything else is white petals or the appropriate colors. Then if you are scattering more rose petals across the tables during dinner or the reception, make sure everyone has the proper colored petals to match the wedding colors, or just simple white, expect for you and your partner. The setting for you and your partner will have the matching deep dark and rich rose petals from the aisle. Not only will this be eye catching, but it helps you both stand out from the crowd on your big day.
Now, since you have signified subcontiously youth and energy, then love and bonding/partnership, now it is time to have the same colored red rose petals for your first night of passion with your life partner. The red rose petals are a guaranteed romantic pleaser if used properly.
The immediate thing newly weds do is to just place them all over the bed. Although this is great, why not have the hotel or villa or suite leave a red rose petal trail up to your room and then when you walk in, that is where you have all the candles lit, the champagne, chocolates, and of course the red rose petal around and on the bed. I do recommend you ask the hotel to only place the petals on the comforter and not the pillows. Rose petals on the pillows make a huge mess and get in the way more than they are enjoyable. By having the petals only on the top comforter, you still get the fabulous effect, but you also don’t have to deal with the petals getting in your mouth or rubbing into your hair and on your face. You may want to also just ask that they place a deep dark chocolate on your pillow and that is the reason you only want petals on the comforter. If you need to order perfect petals, one online store I always enjoy for the perfect rose petals is Pick a Petal.
