One thing most Brides never know how to do correctly is to ensure to their new Mother in Law that they will take care of their baby boy just like they would. This goes for both straight women and gay men. Mother’s always worry and why wouldn’t they. Noone can love their boy like his own mom. At least not in the eyes of the mom. This is something that Bride’s do not always consider.
I don’t think that they should try and think about it, however it is hard for a mom to let go, however if you do a few things before you marry her boy, you can easily make the best impression and help to reinsure your mother in law that you will take good care of her boy.
The first thing to do is take a cooking course. If you can show her you can feed her son a good meal and take care of him, she will not only be impressed (even if it is secret), but at least she will know that he will eat well. The next thing you need to do is to show your future Mother in Law that you care and respect her. Let her know what an amazing job she did raising your future husband. Tell her how much of a good man he is and how she did an amazing job raising him. This gives her pride in knowing she did a good job as a parent and created someone that not only she could love, but others could fall in love with too. One thing a Mother always loves to know is that she did her very best and succeeded.
Another thing you can do is about a week or maybe even a month before the wedding, send her a gift or set up a lunch and give her something like this.
