So about a year ago I saw my first commercial for the Gyro Bowl and I ended up blogging about it here. I then deleted my post about the Gyro Bowl because I just thought it was incredibly dumb but didn’t think it was appropriate to say that I didn’t like the Gyro Bowl. The reality about the as seen on tv Gyro Bowl is that it actually isn’t dumb and the Gyro Bowl is actually kind of cool. I just get annoyed with a few things about the Gyro Bowl so I wanted to do another post about what I like and don’t like about this product (I don’t actually own one) and to help stop someone from making a tacky mistake and serving food at a party from an As Seen On TV Gyro Bowl.

The thing I want everyone to know is that this is not a decorative bowl. It is tacky and not that cute. Please do yourself a favor and do not use it to serve food at at a party. The Gyro Bowl should also never be used for serving food at a wedding. Use proper serving plates and bowls for fancy occasions. Where the As Seen On TV Gyro Bowl can make a cute serving bowl is at a pool party. I kind of love the idea of having it on a table because the Gyro Bowl sort of looks like a pool toy. I have no clue if it floats or not but it will definitely look cute filled with chips or pretzels or other things. That is probably the only place where the Gyro Bowl As Seen On TV would be a proper serving bowl. Picnics are somewhat ok but only if you have kids there and need to serve them in something that is supposed to not spill.
I sort of love in the show how they show the Gyro Bowl being tossed around and nothing spilling from it. You have to remember that infomercials go to the extreme when trying to make a point so in the show when the food and toys don’t actually spill from the Gyro Bowl, you have to expect it to only work somewhat as well as in the show. Then again I don’t actually own one so I cannot tell you if it will or will not work. This would be great to help keep food off the floor and when you are having a party. Keep your kids from loosing their lunch if they are playing and you don’t want it to fall on the ground and them to pick it up and eat it off the ground. It’s also great if you decide to let your kids have food in the car. Eating while in a car could cause them to choke so I personally do not ever recommend letting your kids eat while you are driving. You won’t be able to turn around and help them get the food unlodged if they choke.
The Gyro Bowl is a cool product overall from the infomercial. It isn’t actually cute for parties or serving food so I completely disagree with the infomercial there. I do love the Gyro Bowl for pool parties though and it could possibly be great for kids that need something to hold food or toys that will help to prevent spills.
