Heart Shapen Chocolates Heart Shaped Chocolate Favors

Ok, it is almost Valentines Day and that also means all of the Valentine’s Day Wedding Favors and heart shaped everything. Perfect Wines for a Spring or Summer Weddings

Ok, I had a couple of wines over the last couple days that were above and beyond amazing. They were also absolutely perfect for spring and summer weddings. Neither of them were heavy or thick, neither were over powering, but both of them had so much flavor, taste, great body and color and amazing aromas. They also had about the perfect kick alcohol wise to keep you standing but also give you enough courage to go out on the dance floor and shake your booty.

Now, even if you normally don’t like chardonnays or cabarnets, you have to try these two. Not only are they amazing, but they are perfect for people with all pallets and tastes and can match just about any meal from Chicken to Steak to Fondue. Anyways, here are my two favorite wine picks for Spring and Summer weddings. (Even though Stefano Farina’s Barolos didn’t make it on this list, they were a very close call for the red choice. The second runner up for whites was an amazing sauvignon blanc, but they also ran out of the wine so it is almost impossible to get so I didn’t include it.)

Edna Valley Vineyards Chardonnay 2006

This is the Edna Valley Chardonnay 2006. It comes in a yellow tinted bottle and the foil around the top is a nice spring and summer yellow to tie into the wedding season.

The wine is an amazing chardonnay and unlike most chardonnays, the Edna Valley Vineyards Chardonnay from 2006 first seems like it is going to be a medium to heavy body, but when you drink it and taste it going down your throat, it is actually extremely light and flowery.

Although I didn’t taste it as a very oaky wine, my friend Mike definitaly commented on the oaky taste so I am assuming it is there for some people. The thing that we both loved about this 2006 Edna Valley Chardonnay though is the amazing vannila explosion that you get a few seconds after you swallow this chardonnay. The taste of this wine is soo explosive it is insane.

We served it chilled but also let is air for about 20 to 30 minutes. We then poured it into titanium high grade wine glasses that I got from one of the wine stores listed below and we also let the bottle sit out instead of keeping it chilling in an ice bucket.

It starts out with a nice chardonnay fruity flavor, I kept getting a hint of flowers and floral aromas when I was drinking it, but the most suprising and amazing thing about this chardonnay was the explosive vanilla flavor at the end.

It wasn’t overpowering or to strong, but it just comes out of no where and leaves this amazing taste in your mouth for a good few seconds. Even though I normally do not like vanilla wines, this one is a must have and the taste, flavor, body, legs, aromas, bottle design, etc… make it the most amazing and seriously perfect white wine and chardonnay for spring and summer weddings.

This is probably the most fabulous and amazing cabarnet I have ever had. Then again I am extremely partial to it since I have so many good memories that come with drinking the bottle.

The first time I had ever tried the Mayacamas Cabarnet I was with my Dad and we were finally talking after a long time of avoiding each other. This wine always reminds me of when we were talking and found out we have a ton of things in common like wine, cooking and we actually have a lot of the same hobbies.

I remember hanging out with my friends and opening a bottle of the Mayacamas Cabarnet, pouring it through my Decanter and letting it breath, then explaining why it is important and showing them what it tastes like before it breathes and then again after to try and convert them into whinos as well.

Anyways, this wine is extremely special to me and everyone who I have ever served the Mayacamas Cabarnet to has unanimously agreed it is one of the best cabarnets and reds that they have ever tasted. It is a bit on the pricey end for a large wedding, but if you don’t mind spending the extra money on a wine for your wedding, this is one to definitely consider, at least for the bridal party, groomsmen and your parents.

Bachelorette Party Drinks Valentines Day Drinks

Jones Soda Pick a Case

Ok, If you haven’t noticed I am overly obsessed with Bachelorette Parties lately because I am heading to Vegas in a Couple weeks for a friend’s bachelorette party. Not only do Bachelorette parties become more fun when they are a friend’s bachelorette party, but when you get to celebrate it in a city like Las Vegas, you are definitely going to have a fabulous and amazing time!

Anyways, not only do I get to go to Vegas and get to go to a Bachelorette Party in Vegas, but right after we get to celebrate one of the biggest engagement holidays and single grrl and guy holidays Valentines Day so I figured, why not create a few drinks that work for both Valentines Day and for Bachelorette Parties and since I love Jones Soda, why not incorporate Jones Sodas in so we can also have alcoholic and non Alcoholic cocktails for everyone celebrating Valentine’s Day (whether they are with friends or a lover) and for everyone at the Bachelorette Party.

Ok, so when I was looking through the different Jones sodas and thinking about the holiday and events that I am creating drinks for, I thought about what all do they have in common and what can I do to tie them all together and also find colors that match the different types of drinks and occassions.

The things that I came up with and think about when I think Valentines, engagements and Bachelorette Parties are Red and Pink and White, Chocolate, Strawberries, Sex, Romance and Rings. Because of these and all of the fun flavors from Jones Soda, I had a ton of fun creating and designing a couple of drinks for Bachelorette Parties, Valentines Day and all use Jones Soda.

Ok, this first drink is the Chocolate Creme Martini.

The first thing to do, I always use the zero calories diet Jones Soda, is to take a Martini glass and drop a hershey’s kiss into the bottom of it. Next, pour in some dark creme chocolate liquor over the Hershey’s Kiss, the Hershey’s kiss is a surprise for the drinker, then mis Jones Cream Soda with Stoli Vanilla Liquor and shake it in a Martini Shaker. Next pour the Vodka and Cream Soda mixture against the side of the glass so it layers nicely with the chocolate below and you have one of the most amaizng and delicious looking drinks for chocolate lovers and they are perfect for weddings, bachelorette parties and Valentines….You can also hide an Engagament ring instead of the chocolate hershey’s kiss.

The next drink is either the Chocolate Raspberry Martini or Chocolate Strawberry Martini. Use whichever soda flavor and berry in the drink depening on your taste. This one can be served with or without the alcohol.

First take your Martini Glass and chill it. Then take a bottle with a point on the top to give you a thin line when you squeeze out liquid and load it with chocolate sauce. Now, make long ovals and swirls around the Martini glass with the chocolate and then put it back in the freezer if you can. Now take a martini shaker mix in cosmo mix or if you have a really good and thick strawberry or raspberry juice use that instead of the cosmo mix. Take either Raspeberry or Strawberry Stoli Vodka and then shake with ice in your Drink Shaker. Then take the cup with the chocolate out of the freezer and pour in the mixture. Then take a raspberry and drop it in the bottom of the drink or take a long stirrer and put a raspeberry on the top of it and let it sit over the rim of the glass. If you did strawberries then take a strawberry and put a slice up the middle to the middle of the berry. Then slide the berry over the rim of the glass and let it be the garnish, you can even pour a little chocolate or dip it in chocolate after you slice it to further make it a chocolate covered strawberry.

The toast.

Take any of the clear or white Jones Sodas and just mix it with a Rose or a White or Yellow Champagne. Then just drop in your ring and propose or if it is a Bachelorette party, drop a penis lollipop or something a bit more bachelorette in since they already have a ring lol.

Anyways, I love mixing Jones Sodas with different drink mixes, especially with margarita and frozen drink mixes because it not only matches the sweetness of the mixes but it also adds a really fun bubbly taste and texture to the drinks,,,however sometimes the soda isn’t strong enough to overpower the mix and keep it sparkling so you may want to add champagne as well to the mix so it stays bubbling.

Thank God for Lady Gaga and Beyonce

So I was never a fan of Beyonce. I always thought she could not sing and just never liked her music. Then again I had never actually heard all of her songs and actually didn’t know she sang a few songs that I actually did really like the dance remixes of. Anyways, Lady Gaga was another one who I wasn’t a huge fan of but she grew on me and now I love her music, especially because of her videos like Bad Romance where she has the coffin that says monster and all of the really cool 1990′s raver clothing and party kid/clyb kid clothing and even some glam rock types of outfits.

Anyways, I would have never put the two of them together for a song or thought that it could work, unlike when Britney and Madonna produced a decent song together, not great but a good one, but on the way home from the store and I heard this really good beat on BPM on XM/Sirius Satellite radio. Anyways when I looked at the screen to see who sang the song I was kind of shocked when I looked and saw that it was a song by both Beyonce and Lady Gaga.

Although you couldn’t actually make out many of the words in the song Telephone by Lady Gaga and Beyonce, you could completely tell it is them once you know who sang the song. Not only did they give the remix of Telephone on BPM by Lady Gaga and Beyonce an amazing beat like a late 1990′s early 2000′s rave beat, but the vocals and energy is completely just like a 90′s rave/limelight styled song as well.

Anyways, I had never heard the song before and wouldn’t have thought that Beyonce and Lady Gaga would have produced a song together, but after hearing the remix of Telephone, I am completely a fan of both of them now.

Amazing Roses for Brides and Wedding Centerpiece Designs

Ok, it is freezing here in Washington DC right now. Way to cold to even go to brunch or the grocery store, heck it is even to cold to want to look out the window. The cold probably wouldn’t be as bad though if it wasn’t for all of the wind, so instead of writing and talking or typing about gorgeous winter weddings and how I love winter weddings, mainly because I do, and so instead of reminding myself of the thing I hate most about winter, that it is freezing outside, I wanted to talk about something warmer and a bit more full of life so I decided the perfect warmer thing to post about would be flowers and flower designs.

I can easily see glass fishbowls and glass vases coming back for centerpieces this spring and summer and love the thought of avoiding all dark red roses since those are completely 1980′s and 1990′s, and going with colored roses again to match the decorations, the seasons, sticking with all of the white flowers again, etc… I searched through a new vendor that I have never actually worked with or ordered from before, but I did fall in love with some of their designs for wedding bridal rose bouquets and wedding rose centerpiece designs.

A thought on how gays help increase population

Ok, this is completely a long shot but also one that could actually help to make sense as well. If you cannot tell I am overly hooked on Bravo TV and their fashion TV shows. Everything from Rachel Zoe to Launch My Line (Even though I think the two hosts are destroying the show, I change channels every time they come on, god they are annoying, bring me back Issac or Kelly or Michael Kors, anyone but them!) and I have also heard the argument that gays shouldn’t get married because they cannot reproduce and help grow the population by some serious right wingers.

Now, although I agree, gay people normally cannot reproduce, without the help of the opposite sex or science, they can however definitely play a huge impact on the population and shows like the fashion shows on Bravo as well as the fashion industry and hair and makeup industry as well play a huge impact on human sex drive and breeding.

Think about it this way, although we cannot breed with each other if we are both male or both female, we can stop doing our jobs and only focus on gay clientele that have no heterosexual tendencies or bisexual tendencies. What does this mean for the straight people and the human population, well it will mean a potentially seriously visible decline the population growth and overall look of the world. Curious as to why?

True, we cannot breed, but we do run and own most of the fashion world, the beauty world and we own and run the retail world. Not to mention entertainment, stars, music, gyms, personal training, etc… Without us offering our talents, even decorating for mood and lighting, guess what, people will not look as good. Clothing that is sexy may no longer be designed, or at least not the large selection that many hetero sexuals get. Hair may not be as beautiful and make up artists will start to fall behind the times and women who go to gay men and women will no longer get to have the same treatment, or have to search a lot harder for the same quality so they can impress their husbands and turn them on.

When women and men stop being able to dress and look sexy, they will eventually see that the gay community somehow still does and when they cannot find something that turns them on as much, guess what, their sex drive dies a little bit. If your girlfriend, wife, husband or boyfriend is just not attractive or stops being able to dress well or get their hair done to look sexy, you slowly start to loose interest in sex. Who wants to always sleep with someone that doesn’t turn them on physically? Physical appearance really does count, sure a personal and mental connection is extremely important, but you have to admit, there are some times when looks alone are what get you through it.

Anyways, when the sex goes away, so do accidents and pregnancies. Without these pregnancies or accidents, there are less babies being born and with less babies, the population declines. Sure this is a long shot, but can you image how aweful our clothes would look and our hair and make up would be without Gay Men and some Gay Women leading the way?

Anyways, it is a complete long shot but one I wanted to throw out there because it is also kind of funny. You may be able to breed and we wouldn’t be here without you, but without us you definitely would not look as good and without looking as good, you may not even be there to create more gay people so that they can continue to make you look better and then it goes around again. Anyways, just something I thought was funny and wanted to write about.
