Do Jews allow gays to get married? Is Gay Marriage ok for Jews?

The Jewish religion allows gay marriage for gay men only. It doesn’t matter what Rabbi or Synagogue you go to, they will all agree on one thing, they cannot legitimately marry two women. Seriously, no self respecting Rabbi can support the eating of unkosher foods and as we all know, shellfish falls into that category….j/k. Sorry I had to do that, I thought of that while I was writing this entry.

Gay Marriage is actually ok for just about every religion, however within the Jewish Community and in Judiasm, it is actually a lot more gay friendly than most other religions. I have read through the torah numerous times and talked to tons of Rabbis and the one thing they all have in common is that none of them have a problem with gays or marrying gays and if you do find a Rabbi that will not marry gay people, then it is because that Rabbi just doesn’t like gay people.

Every Rabbi I spoke to from Reformed to Conservative and even the Orthadox Rabbis all agreed that even if they don’t approve of gay people, they are happy to marry them since there is nothing in the Torah or Jewish teachings that actually say being gay is bad or against god.

Although I am still not a fan of having to be religious, it was really cool to find out that a major and very ancient religion can actually be open minded and actually doesn’t add random things in later on to keep up with social issues and trends and actually doesn’t discriminate…now, there are plenty of things I don’t agree with with every religion, but I do give the Jews credit for one thing that you won’t find with many other religions that changed in modern times, they never banned or preteneded that being gay was evil and I am happy to say that the Jews love the gays and we should love them back.

If you are a Jew or your partner is, good news, you probably will not be going to hell if you get married since there is nothing in the Jewish religion that says gay people cannot get married.

May the fetus you save be Gay – well then I add to it

So my friend who runs a ton of fabulous Parenting websites sent me something to cheer me up today. I had a fairly upsetting week when I got stabbed in the back by someone who pretends to be a friend and ethical and then steals your client. Anyways I am much better off without them all and wish them the best of luck…would have been nice if they at least paid me the money they owe me but you cannot expect much from people who in my opinion lack ethics and professionalism.

Anyways, she sent me an email with a ton of bumper stickers and funny sayings and I don’t know who owns them or where they came from but the one that I thought was absolutely hilarious from the list was “May the fetus you save be Gay” and I couldn’t stop laughing.

Not only is it a seriously funny saying and thing to say, regardless of your opinions on pro choice pro life but think about the pro life people, what if the fetuses they are saving do all end up gay, then getting married, well for them this is absolutely perfect. Not only do they get to protest for them when they are born, but they get to follow the fetus through their childhood and help keep them out of schools or get lynched and beaten up them suspended for being beaten up for being gay, but they also then get to protest when they go to college and meet their boyfriend or girlfriend and throw things at them and make comments while they walk down the street. What is even better is that they get to also attend the gay wedding of the fetus they saved.

Sure, they won’t get to attend it from the inside unless they are suicide bombing it, but they will get to enjoy trying to ruin it with all of their friends outside protesting and getting even more pissed off when they realize that even though they saved that gay baby’s life, they actually helped to progess this country and this world so that Gays can have more safety and more freedom and now in some places get married. So keep saving those babies you pro lifers and help us keep moving gay rights forward.

For this Thanksgiving, I salute all of the prolifers for helping to save the lives of numerous gay babies so that they can grow up to be upstanding and upright citizens, help get our economy going again and help make the world safer and better for future generations of gay people, not to mention helping to increase the gay to straight marriage rate….heck, we all should have the right to make our own lives a living hell with the one we love lol.

Happy Thanksgiving to all the gay babies you save and to all the gay kids growing up, to all the gay college students falling in love and all the gay people getting married, but more importantly to the pro life people for saving gay babies lives and for the gay community and gay people for fighting for marriage and for all of the straight people, both pro life and pro choice for making the world what it is.

Somewhere, where no matter what we do or how we look and think and feel about things, it is ok to disagree with each other and because of our different opinions and decisions we can create new freedoms and new things to do with ourselves later in life. For me, well I am neither pro life or pro choice. I really am somewhere down the middle and probably will never be swayed either way. What I do know is that I am thankful for all of my friends, family and loved ones and no matter what side of the fence you are on, I am thankful that we are all able to live in the world together and that even though we disagree on almost everything, we can still have days like Thanksgiving where we all do get along.

Tea, Hot Chocolate and Hot Drink Wedding Favors.

Ok, I cannot believe I caught the flu again! This is the second time this year so far I have caught the flu. This seriously sucks. Texas Banned All Mariage – Why not make divorce illegal too?

So this week Texas actually banned marriage. Not gay marriage, not straight marriage, all marriage together. You might think this is crazy but it actually happened. Someone told me this last night when I was out with my friends and I just started to laugh but didn’t believe it until I did a search and found it on a million different sites including cbs, the week and some others.

So here is what happened. In 2005 there was a vote and a law passed to try to ban and abolish gay marriage in Texas. No surprise there. Texas is one of the most conservative states in the US. The issue is that they also ended up including this sentence in their clause or in the bill or law “”This state or a political subdivision of this state may not create or recognize any legal status identical or similar to marriage.”

So what ended up happening is that Democratic Texas Attorney General candidate Barbara Ann Radnofsky found this clause and decided to use it to get some political ground for her running for the Texas Attorney General campaign. Not only is that a briliant move on her part because she now can get liberal and democratic voters, even a bunch of Republicans to now get to the polls and more importantly start to actually read and understand what they are voting for and not just listening to this will do this, but actually read through it and pass laws more carefully. You always hear people bitching about politicians not listening to them and passing unfair laws that they don’t like, but in reality if you look at it, we are the people that vote them into office and if we don’t like what they do, we have the choice to not vote for them again. You cannot always vote because you recgnize the name of the person or because you read a part of the law that you agree with. You need to vote based on the laws they voted for in the past and actually read the entire bill before you pass or decline it or things like accidently banning marriage in texas happen more and more often.

So something else that I thought was funny was that someone at the bar last night also said, why not just ban divorce since the Texans and a ton of the conservatives are saying that gay marriage ruins the sanctity of straight marriage and the term. That is actually a seriously stupid idea.

If we banned divorce, what would I have to read about in the papers? No more Brad and Angelina vs. Jennifer Aniston, no more Britney Spears white trash weddings and worse break ups and even worse, do you know how many murders there would be from the gold diggers who marry them old if they don’t die and are waiting to get divorced to collect a large divorce settlement. I mean seriously, half the married couples would probably kill each other if they didn’t have an escape clause and tabloids would go out of business. Not to mention that STD rates and adultry or cheating husbands and wives would probably increase since they would be stuck with the same person for years. It’s kind of like in England years ago when Kings had their Wives dissapear because they couldn’t actually get divorced or give them a son. It’s a scary thought so I am actually opposed to banning Divorce but do this it is funny that Texas banned all marriage.

Anyways, just wanted to give you all my thoughts on this and think it is absolutely hillarious.

Ok, I love wine and wine themed everything, especially weddings. Things to remember when planning a winter wedding.

Winter weddings are my favorite weddings to not only plan and attend, but also to help people pick out favors and gifts for. I love winter weddings because you not only get to wear layers of clothing, but the bride or even groom if he is wearing a gown gets to wear layers like a jacket over a wrap over a gown, a stool, and a ton of other things that summer and spring and even some fall brides don’t get to wear. They can show up with a hat that does not mess up their hair and they can also get away with larger crystal and diamond earrings and bracelets. Something just screams class with winter weddings and it is one of the only wedding seasons where white tuxedos and white diamond jewelry everywhere and crystals on your gown just work because they match the ice outside. However, you have to also remember a few things when planning your winter wedding that most summer and spring brides don’t have to think or worry about.

1. Pick somewhere without a lot of stairs for older people. It is hard enough for them to walk up and down stairs in the summer, but when the steps ice over and become hard even for people who can walk without an issue, the ice can become deadly for the elderly.

2. If you can find somewhere close to the airport or centrally located without a ton of side roads, take it. You never know when a snow storm is going to hit and if you don’t stay near main roads or by a large and decent hotel, your guests may not be able to make it and you all might get trapped at your wedding reception since side roads are usually the last to get plowed.

3. Bring a change of socks and boots to wear if you have to leave the building to get to your wedding reception and even for your way in and out if your wedding is in the same building as the reception. You don’t want to mess up your dress or your tuxedo and noone likes wet feet, especially if you have to stand at the altar to get married.

4. Although crystals and diamonds look amazing for winter weddings, don’t get carried away. You might look gorgeous with them and they will look amazing, but there is a difference between a bride and a drag queen or beauty queen. Try to not over do it with the rhinestones, crystals and diamonds with your outfit and your jewelry.

5. Make sure that if the Groom or the Bride are wearing a white tuxedo to match the snow that your wedding party wears a different color. You don’t want too much white and you want to make sure that you and your partner stand out so make sure that your wedding party wears a different and solid color. I usually like to put the bridesmaids in one of the other wedding colors and the groomsmen in the other. It is a great way to separate and make the wedding look even better.

6. Wear something warm and bring something even warmer because you never know if your going to have to be in a cold room while you wait for the wedding to start or have to stand in the cold while you great and say hi to your guests. Bring a jacket or something warm to make sure you stay warm and don’t get sick at your wedding.

I love winter weddings and think they are probably the most beautiful. Just remember to plan ahead for snow and ice and make sure to take care of your guests.

So what makes a wedding invitation work for a winter wedding or what makes a winter wedding invitation right for winter. Its really actually pretty easy. If it makes you think of winter then it is a winter wedding invitation. There are some things that do seem to work more than other things to make the invitations perfect for winter weddings.

For me, blue, white and silver are the winter wedding colors, green is too much like spring and summer and so are pink, yellow, and pretty much everything else. Stick with these and you will be completely set. You can still keep some other colors in your wedding and wedding theme, but for the invitations, make sure your main color and the decoration stick with cool colors and say that they are for a winter wedding.

The next thing is to remember that even if you want something green or trees and flowers, if you live in the north or north east or anywhere that there is snow on the ground. Your wedding invitations won’t really make sense since there won’t be any trees or any green around. However, you can use things like snowflakes, silver accents and a ton of other winter themed colors and designs for your wedding that summer and spring weddings don’t get to use.

I love winter weddings and love the invitations for them. You get to use colors that most other people don’t get to use and because of the different gowns and outfits and colors, you also get a heck of a lot more design choices and layers to wear. You can start with a coat to walk into the wedding hall or where you are going to get married, then have an extra cover or wrap to wear over your shoulders and then go to a strapless or even full topped wedding gown after you have the temperature adjusted to make it so you will feel comfortable in your dress. Guys have to still wear a suit or a tux so regardless they would feel either warm or cool but the women gets a lot more choices with her winter wedding and winter wedding outfits. Anyways, you need to make sure that your winter wedding starts off correctly with your wedding invitations being winter colors and the perfect way to do it is to start it off with blue, white and silver wedding invitations.

I can’t believe it is already just about winter and thanksgiving and all of the winter holidays. And with winter comes cold air, winter coats, nights indoors with a fire or tv and a blanket, and although the cold air can stink, the one thing I love most about winter is the Winter Weddings.

However, the one thing I love most about winter weddings and Valentines weddings is the favors that you can choose, use and give out and because a lot of them are out of season, you can actually get winter wedding and valentines wedding favors on sale or at a discount since they are technically not on season since most weddings are in the spring and summer when the weather is warmer and people can get married outside, so I actually prefer the winter weddings and valentines weddings because you can not only choose more heart shaped wedding favors, but you can also use warm themes, wine wedding favors and heart shaped wine stoppers and warm themed wedding favors are all also perfect for winter and valentines weddings. I love wine and wine gifts and wine wedding favors so of course I am going to love this one….however I am not too much of a fan of the heart on top of the wine bottle stopper. I kind of like the opened heart in the image next to this one better, but buy the one that you and your partner like better because it is your wedding and should reflect your taste.
