So work is once again driving me a bit batty,,,but at the same time I absolutely love what I do. However, sometimes we all need escapes, but not everyone can afford a trip or vacation at the drop of a hat, so what I like to recommend to people is a fantastic body and bath set.

Bath and Body sets do make great pre wedding gifts as it allows the bride to have something to look forward to after a day of stressfull planning activites, and as a friend, you need to test out the sets before you give them which is the perfect reason you should order two. (Like we need a reason to pamper ourselves and destress sometimes.)

Now if you look at the picture, it is pretty obvious why they call it the Bustier set, the package is a big old bustier. How cool is that! I love it and love recommending this product to everyone. It is creative. fun, romantic and the bath part is a fabulous relaxer.

This next Bath and Body set is also from Ruby Boudoir. It is called the Heart Bath and Body set (for obvious reasons) and is another favorite of mine.

I am an absolute wreck when it comes to antiques and classic looking things. I know I prefer everything modern, but how could you refuse a classic stained glass Tiffany Lamp? My love for classics and antique styled things makes me love this bath set. Just look at it. It reminds me of a classic hat box in a heart shape. The package matches perfectly and the colors and products just say come take a bath, I’ll relax you, it’ll be so worth it!

Although I have not had the pleasure of using this set yet, I just think it is one of the most inviting bath sets I have ever seen before.

This set is also a rose and lavendar scent. However it is a very subtle scent so you don’t have to worry about smelling like it all night or stinking up a room if your significant other ends up not liking it. This set contains 6 ounces of shower gel, 8 ounces of bath crystals, 6 ounces of body lotion and 4 ounces of body scrub….ohh and don’t forget the first thing I fell in love with, the heart shaped box. So I also found this one at Ruby Boudoir. It is the perfect gift for bridesmaids and groomesmen who take care of themselves and for the wedding couple on a budget. It is essentially the same as the heart shaped bath and body set in that the products look warm and inviting, but it comes in a tote bag so you can take it with you, pack it in your bags, use it wherever there is a tub or jacuzzi.

Monogrammed Red and White Wine Glasses – Love it!

So back to one of my very favorite wedding supply, gift and favor vendors. Beau-Coup. It is freaking cold out here again which means I am not heading to a happy hour for a drink. I mean, why would I when I have a fantastic wine collection and friends who will come over to join me for a glass or ten. Wedding Unity Candles – Monogrammed Wedding Candles for Your Big Day.

A little known shop online is the Printed Candle Company. They have a fantastic variety of printed candles for your wedding. The printed candle company not only has a ton of fonts to choose from, they also have colors, shapes, styles, collections, sets and more. For this post, I want to share some of the Unity candles that I just absolutely love and think that you will to.

Monogrammed Unity Candles

So this candle is my favorite. It is the classic monogram unity candle. It is a classic and classy white candle with a fabulous look and feel. I love the modern look of the candle with the large middle letter and bold font choice. One other thing I really love about the classic monogrammed unity wedding candle is the silver band across the bottom. If you think about weddings, the ring and the circle are the symbols of your relationship, with silver (or gold and choice of letter color) being a power candle and gay weddings being more of a newer modern tradition, the classic Monogrammed Unity Candle combines all of these into one and is by far my favorite of the unity wedding candle series as it combines my favorite things wedding.

So this is above and beyond not my style or something I would personally pick, however it is seriously popular and since it is not my wedding, I am not always right. I need to offer a variety of products that meet your needs as it is your big day and one thing you always need to remember is that you need to pick out what works for you and what makes you happy.

Unity Candle Set

The Premier Unity Candle Set featured to the left is a perfect accent and feature for a classic or comtemporary wedding. It reminds me of and makes me think colonial times. I can also see the Premier Unity Candle Set fitting perfect in a classic stone or wooden church. Think about how fabulous it would look above your guest sign in book or even by the alter with your names on it.

If your wedding is classic and not a goddy theme, this is perfect for you. Although I am in a huge modern fix again, this candle set is completely growing on me and hey, I am even being able to see how it could easily be worked into an ultra modern wedding scene. It’s a cool and classic look and I am sure it will work if you are having your wedding in an old styled wooden or stone church. Come to think of it, this is also perfect for a country home wedding too.

The final Candle set in the Unity series that I want to share with you from the Printed Candle Company is the Encore Wedding Unity Candle Set.

Ok, so this is a candle that I can never get myself to buy. I am not one for hearts or for tacky symbols, however this candle set does have it’s purpose. The Encore Unity Candle Set features all the stereotypes of love and weddings from the heart in the middle to the band and circle of words and it has the lettering and band on the bottom which you can customize and alter to be what you want.

The reason I did want to share this set with you all is that it is something different that I would not normally post. I do love the silver candle holders that you see in the picture to the left, however the candles can be left to the person who enjoys them. The three candles, although slightly cheesy are accented by two gorgeous tapers which I think adds class to just about anything. I am one for candles and lot sof them, but I also think that if you are going to do a large candle set for your wedding candles, you will need to carry this through the entire wedding. Set up lots on the dancefloor, on your tables and throughout the entire wedding. It also leads to an amazingly gorgeous and candlelight wedding night…My preferance is a minimal 50 candles lit aroudn the bed in multiple heights and varieties. This candle set is the perfect way to get the candle themed wedding going because it starts friendly and sweet and adds in a ton of natural lighting with it’s 5 pieces. If you do choose to use this as your wedding candles, please make sure you have a lot of candles at every step and end with a candle light honeymoon and wedding night. If you start with 5 candles instead of one or three, be prepared to keep the theme going.

PeoplePlatters.com – A cute and unique wedding gift.

PeoplePlatters.com Gay Couples Plate

So I stumbled across this site called PeoplePlatters.com. Although I am not one who usually likes crafts, to see a company that is not only creative, but also embraces and respects people from all walks of life, I could not resist.

PeoplePLatters.com offers a fabulous selection of platters with people on them. I saw they had a wedding section and when looking through, I also found a gay wedding plate selection. I absolutely fell in love with them. (Heck, I even pulled an image from the site and uploaded it here to show you a sample of one of their two grooms designs (with permission of course)).

One thing I am noticing more and more online is that people are now adding in and embracing the gay community and even building out sections of their websites specificially for gay couples and gay weddings. A few years back, you would come across crafting sites with unique gifts and never even come close to seeing something gay. Now, almost everywhere you look, someone is promoting pride something or celebrating their gay friends and offering gay products. It really shows how we as Americans and Humans have begun progressing and growing. We are in a more open and accepting world and I for one applaud sites like PeoplePlatters.com for helping to support people of all backgrounds and life styles.

Now, if you click one of the links above, you will instantly be taken to a landing page with all of their gay marriage platters. You’ll find plates and platters for Homosexuals, Lesbians, with rainbows, with champagne and more. These platters are pretty unique and honestly make a fun and playful gift for a wedding. I’d probably use it for an appetizer plate for a post wedding rehersal party. Anyway you look at it, People Platters gay couple platters make a fun arts and crafts type of wedding present that many people will enjoy.

Gosh it’s Cold. Everyone Could Use This Leather Flask.

So it is freaking cold here in the Chicago area. I was talking to a friend who is getting married and unfortunately I am going to miss the wedding, and when she asked “What should I buy the Groomsman (lesbians, always the butch) I said why not get them something to keep them warm like a Leather Flask that you can also engrave.

Now, I definitely have a thing for a drink here and there, but this is seriously not a bad idea for a gift for the Groomsman or Lesbians as 1. You can fill it with a nice brandy or cognac if you live in a cold climate and pass them out to the party to keep them warm while they wait and fuss over you. 2. A flask for some reason always comes in handy at some point in your life. 3. Flasks are entertaining, people love to act like they are drinking, make jokes and really actually have a great time with them. 4. If you ever end up going to a concert, (Madonna for me) and they have no Vodka, I learned fast to bring my own and the way I got it in was with a flask, a leather flask actually like this one, and was able to enjoy one of my favorite performers with one of my favorite beverages. 5. If the Groomsman have kids and the kids won’t sit still, you can empty out the booze and give them something to play grownup with or let them participate quitely and drink apple juice or something out of the flask. 6. If it is freezing out, as we all know, Liquor makes you at least feel warm and be less sensitive to the cold….this is not a scientific fact as far as I know, but at least for my friends and I, Liquor seems to do the trick and what better thing to have if you ever get stuck outside in the cold or it is freezing one night, that to have your trusty engraved flask with you. 7. A Flask is not an ordinary gift to get and as you can tell with some of the posts in here, I don’t like to do things ordinary. I like to be unique and fun, so why not give your wedding party monogramed flasks or have their names engraved into a leather flask for their wedding party present.

Anyways, I am not sure how I went from wanting to write about how it is freaking freezing in Chicago and how a flask would help to keep you warm in the cold by supplying you with liquor and thinning your blood to a list of reason why you should give leather engraved or monogrammed flasks away as wedding party gifts, but if you decide to buy one for your self or 20 for your wedding party, make sure you send one my way because you can never have to many flasks. lol.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, Does it work?

So it’s been a really rough couple of weeks at work. I’ve been stressed and working crazy hours and because of this my skin has been having some issues. I looked into my medicine cabinet which is loaded with Mario Badescu products and pulled out the pink bottle of drying lotion.

This product is one of the staples of the Mario Badescu line and I believe one of their best sellers. Although I am seriously skeptical of anything new or something that works every time, this one actually seems too work for my skin. I can’t promise it will work for yours, but the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion cleared me up with completely visible results after just a night of using it.

I dab the drying lotion onto a cotton swab and then I put it onto my skin. After washing it of course. I then rub the drying lotion over the pimple and I do use a generous amount. When it looks like the pimple is completely covered, I then leave and let it dry and go on to finish my day or go to bed. The Mario Badescu Drying Lotion does not take long at all. It may be just me, but it seemed that even just after the first application, the acne started to dissapear. Now I don’t have bad skin and the breakouts were very slim, but at the same time, the acne treatment worked like a charm. The pimples cleared up and my skin was feeling fabulous. For just $17 plus shipping and handling, the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion is a definite must. I consider only second to the cucmber and tonic mask they make…god I love that product too. Anyways, I highly recommend using the Drying Lotion as it worked wonders for me.
