I had a nice sit down with an elderly gentleman the other month. We had met at a marketing conference and were talking about live, politics and a ton of other passe and potentially heated topics. He was telling me about his life and how he had served our country as a Marine back in one of the major wars as well as how his life has progressed since then. We’ll as you can tell from reading through the main site at gayweddinggear.com, my mind stopped at marine and my imagination took over.
Stop right there as I know what you are thinking, I was not thinking about him, but about all the fabulous experiences aside from the war that come with being military (yes hot men and women in uniform are included hehehe
), like brothership, comradery and discipline. As he was finishing his story I decided to but in for a bit and told him about this site and this blog.
As we talked he had never actually known anyone out of the closet before and was actually quite conservative. I definitely took him for a loop. I decided to talk to him about being gay and about gay marriage by relating it to him in a way he would understand. I talked about how as a community we come together to fight for what we believe in, about economics and how gay marriage can help provide the USA with an economic stimulus that will boost us up a bit, I talked to him about respect and what it meant for him to defend his rights and then have those rights not be applied to his friends and family which may come out. I talked to him about how he risked his life for the future of our country and his family and brought up that for some it was solely in vein as if he has a gay child or grandchild, they will not receive the same and equal treatment as the rest of the country and his life risking efforts were in vein for this person.
As our conversation wrapped up, his opinions had changed and as we ran into each other at another show, I had the chance to meet some of his family. He has a fantastic and very respectful son in addition to a gorgeous wife. It also turns out he helps to manage the ecommerce of an online jewelry shop called Dream of Jewelry (click these links to go there.).
That is why I brought up Gayweddinggear.com and the gayweddinggear.com gift blog (which you’re reading right now) and told him I would be thrilled to get to promote Dream of Jewelry on my blog. After knowing him and speaking to the person helping with ecommerce, I can assure you that this company is gay friendly and after looking through their product lines, you will not only find a fabulous deal on all types of jewelry and gemstones, but the quality and I am sure the customer service will also be top tier. Later on in future posts I will review different custom and fabulous pieces from Dream of Jewelry, but until then, please use this link and go find yourself a gift or present just because it is a Monday, or an anniversary, or you need a pick me up. I am loving Dream of Jewelry and although I have not shopped there yet, Dream of Jewelry is definitely on my holiday list.
