Mario Badescu – Citrus Body Wash

So in two of my previous posts I go on and on about Mario Badescu and his fabulous lines of skin care.  Well this post is the same.  (I actually made a mistake,,,this is the body wash that smells like grapefruits…the botanical one is the one I love,,,,however I did get hooked on the citrus wash too so I am going to leave this post as is….but the botanicals is my favorite).  From the last couple posts you could tell that I just moved across the country and when I arrived I went back to using a traditional soap and body wash….Huge Mistake.  Mario Badescu had sent me a sample bottle of their fabulous Citrus Body Cleanser (click the previous link to view and buy the Mario Badscu Citrus Body Wash.)

The body wash that I had switched to was also a citrus wash.  Much like the Mario Badescu Wash, it did not have an overpowering scent and it didn’t seem oily at first.  However, compared to the Mario Badescu Citrus Body Wash, I felt like crap after trying this.  I even used the loofa that came with the soap.

The thing that I enjoy about the Mario Badescu Body wash is that the smell is very discrete and it does not overpower you.  You feel clean after using it and once you rinse it off, there is no lingering oily feeling or slimy slippery skin.  You are just left with clean looking and feeling skin.  The lack of residue also makes your skin feel lighter and like it can breathe.  I absolutely love the Mario Badescu Citrus Body Cleanser/Wash, and although it is a bit pricey, it is well worth it.  I know that this body wash isn’t really wedding related, but I really needed to thank them for created this product, and hey, if you are the maid of honor and have to deal with a serious bridezilla, don’t you deserve a nice shower or bath and to come out with great looking, clean and breathable skin?  Click here to buy the Mario Badescu Citrus Body Cleanser.

Artiko Chef – A True Life Saver

So I have spent the last 8 or 9 hours in the car traveling….I am seriously getting to old to road trip….and right now I would kill to have a properly cooked and fresh meal.  I mean, there are a ton of places here to eat, but you never know what the quality will be and if it is worth it.  I always wish there was some sort of consistency with travel food (before you get to your destination of course) and I only wish I was home right now where I have a few freshly prepared Artiko Chef meals.  I seriously should have remembered to grab some dry ice and pack them for the road.

There is nothing I like more than sitting back after a wild night or just to relax in the morning in a snuggly and comfortable spa styled bathrobe. So I was a bit skeptical when I first heard that a tuxedo rental company was doing business online. After a decent amount of consideration if this is a good idea (ordering a tux or suit for your wedding online) I said what the hell, if someone wants to order, it is their own fault. To my surprise, I posted a couple links on the main site and sure enough a few tuxes got rented from the store above (click the banner to visit them). I was also very pleased to hear back from one of the website visitors that they had a fantastic experience with ordering their tuxedo online. They not only looked fabulous, but he said how easy it was and after all his measurements were taken, he put on his tux and it fit perfectly first time. So, I’m not as skeptical about ordering tuxes and suits online any more, but I do think that you should do a few things before ordering them.

Now, the short list of things to remember or do before you order your tuxedo online.

1. Take your measurements or go to a tailor and have them take your measurements. You may also want to look at your favorite suit jacket to find out what feels best on you already, like a 44R for example.

2. If you are using Tuxedos Direct to save money, visit a department store and or a tuxedo shop and try on the tuxedo you are going to be ordering so you know what it will look like and you can ensure you will get the perfect one.

3. Make sure that from the time your measurements are taken and you order your tuxedo to the time of the event, you watch your weight (both fat and muscle) as you want to make sure it still fits for the big day. This is standard advice though.

So, I know that a costume shop isn’t really a thing for weddings,,,then again you could always buy a tshirt with a tux on the front as a gag gift or if you are doing a themed wedding, what better place to pick up a boa.  Then again, you can also order tiarras and hairpieces cheaper and the same if not better quality from costume stores.  Anyways, enough rambling.

I found this online costume store called costume discounters.  Although their artwork and graphics could use some serious help, their selection, prices and quality is above and beyond fantastic.  I contacted them about reviewing them and the thing I liked most about them when I said they would be on a gay wedding site is that costume discounters is a very gay friendly shop.  I love to find companies that are not only gay friendly, but are also happy to support the gay community.

When I was looking through the site, I found some amazing costumes including the one I wore last year, except they had it about $80 less.  I dressed in the wicked witch elite or deluxe costume which is the wizard of oz costume for the wicked witch and also just happens to be the same exact outfit that Elphaba wore in Defying gravity in Wicked.  You will need to order a cape though.  The costume is an amazing fit and looks fabulous.  I only wish that I had found Costume Discounters last year before I spent a ton of money on my costume.  I know where I will be shopping this year for sure.

Mario Badescu Cucumber Tonic Mask – I LOVE YOU

I am soo in love with Mario Badescu and his Cucumber, Clay and Tonic Face Mask. right now. I recently finished one of the most painful things in my life ever, a 60 mile 3 day walk for breast cancer (The Susan G Komen Foundation 3 day). Although the walk was extremely challenging, it was well worth it. Now, the way that this relates back to Mario Badescu is that while you are walking 20 miles each day in the sun, you not only get burned, but you sweat, get oily and your skin can really loose the color and look you work so hard at achieving on a daily basis.

The only skin care I bought and brought was Mario Badescu. I am always open to trying new skin care products and lines, however I am now becoming extremely loyal and almost exclusive to Mario Badescu. As you can see from the banner above, so are many of our favorite celebrities. Anyways, back to the Mario Badescu Cucumber, Clay and Tonic Mask (Click this link to see and buy it). Each night when I got back to my hotel room my skin looked like hell. I had blackheads and sunburn and oil all over. Luckily, one of the items I packed, which is above and beyond one of my top two favorite Mario Badescu products is the Cucumber and Tonic Mask. I would simple apply the mask after rinsing off and drying my face, then as the mask starts to dry, you get this womderful cooling sensation that made all of the sunburn pain just instantly leave.

Besides the cooling relief from Sunburn, this mask is probably the tightest mask I have ever had in my life. You can actually feel it lifting your skin and tightening your pores. It is absolutely amazing. When you have had it on for roughly 20 minutes (I usually keep it for up to 30) you’ll notice something miraculous, all of your blackheads will be gone. I do not know how this mask clears them, but when I wash it off my skin is amazingly clear and if I am not doing a 60 mile walk, my skin stays blackhead free for a day or two after.

This clarity is amazing in that before I began using the mask, I would remove all blackheads every morning, and by the time I was ready for bed, they would all be back again. I figured it was an endless and worthless battle, until I discovered the Mario Badescu Cucumber and Tonic Mask with a clay base.

I don’t want to keep rambling, but this is a product I swear by because it actually does everything it is supposed to and then some. For me, it soothes sunburn, tightens my skin and pores as well as cleans blackheads and makes my skin look and feel refreshed. Cellars Wine Club – A perfect wedding gift.

If you’re like me, you love a good wine.  Even if you do not like wine, most other people do.  Wine comes in handy if you are having company or a dinner party, if you forgot to buy a gift for someone or an occasion and need something fast and appreciated, etc…  Wine is just extremely versatile and liked by millions which is why I feel it is almost always an appropriate gift.  You can also take the one bittle gift to the next level and the best way to do this is by buying either yourself (so you always have a bottle handy) or the bride and groom a membership to a wine club where they will receive a bottle or two each month until the membership runs out.
