So I found out that my one friend who works for one of my favorite wedding vendors had parted ways with them and it kind of started my day out on a bad note. On a good note though he ended up going to work for a website that I had never heard of before called Waxing Poetic.  I really didn’t get why I would promote or talk about a site called waxing poetic but I knew there had to be a reason that he would tell me to just take a look without saying another word or answering my questions.  Not only did I take a look at the site but I was instantly inspired….I didn’t realize how well he knew me and my tastes.

Waxing Poetic is a site that sells modern styled jewelry with a very classic and somewhat antique twist.  The first few products I found when searching the waxing poetic website were the pearl necklaces and pearl bracelets.  Not only do I love how they are sort of dark and sort of emo goth looking but they are also classic and extremely classy looking.  With the new lines of fall and winter wedding gowns coming out, I could only see these bracelets and necklaces being used.

Secret Solutions Plus Sized Body Shaper As Seen On TV

This morning I woke up to a brand new infomercial on TV for another new body shaper.  We have all seen the Slim ‘N Lift Body Shaper and we all know about Kymaro Body Shaper, we’ve all seen Spanx and Flexees but this one ended up being a little bit different.  Instead of focusing 100% on comfort and avoiding the issues that many people have with body shapers, they jumped right in and decided to address what women and some men are really wishing they would do with a body shaper, make it work for the person wearing it.

The Secret Solutions Body Shaper is a brand new type of Body Shaper.  The reason I am bringing it up on here is because I always recommend to brides that Body Shapers are the way to go if you ended up not being able to lose those last few pounds before your wedding.  Normally I would say get a Slim ‘N Lift, that is the one I own and have worn a couple times on Halloween, but the Secret Solutions body shaper was designed for plus sized people and comes in all sizes from a medium to a 4X.  That is what is beautiful about the Secret Solutions Body Shaper as seen on tv.  It was made for plus sized people to be able to use and not for the size 6 who wants to be a 4 or size 2 who needs to be a 0.  The Secret Solutions plus sized body shaper is the body shaper of the average woman.

Go Go Slippers – The solution to long nights in high heels

Last night I saw a commercial for a brand new infomercial product that helps to solve an old issue.  The product is called Go Go Slippers and to be honest the solution is so simple that I am amazed no one had thought of them before.   Go Go Slippers are metallic colored ballet slippers that come in gold, silver or black.   They roll up neatly into a small bag that fits into your clutch or purse and are able to be slipped on and off during the night.  You might be asking yourself why this is a solution to anything but in reality they are actually more like a dream come true to anyone who has ever had to wear high heels for a long period of time.

Ladies, Drag Queens, Pageant Models, Women and Girls who have gone to Bar and Bat Mitzvahs and everyone else who has ever had to wear high heels for long periods of time know how much high heels can hurt your feet.  They have all also at one point or another removed their heels or wanted to remove their heels to give their feet a break but at the same time don’t want to have to put their feet on dirty floors or be seen without something that at least looks like a shoe if the photographer is around.  That is why Go Go Slippers are such a genius idea to come up with.  Gogo slippers are colored like three of the most popular colored formal wear high heels.  You can buy gogo slippers in gold, silver or black and since they are ballet slippers they are not only comfortable but since they are small enough to roll up and squeeze into almost any bag you an casually slide off your heels when you’re sitting at a table, during a ceremony or in a lounge and not have to put your feet on a dirty floor or worry about snagging stockings on a nail or rough floor since the gogo slippers ballet slippers will be protecting your feet.  Then when its time to get back up or go dancing you can easily slip off the gogo slippers and thn slip your high heels back on with your feet rested and feeling great again.

I cannot believe that no one had thought of using ballet shoes as a way to get to take a break from wearing high heels during formal events.  The answer is so simple and high heels are something you always hear people that have to wear them complaining about.  Whoever came up with Go Go Slippers was a genius in that they helped to come up with a seriously easy and affordable solution to help give your feet a break when you have to wear high heels for a long time.  Since they also look like dress shoes or if you’re wearing a long gown you can even just leave your high heels to the side and keep your go go slippers or ballet slippers on all night while you dance with your partner or friends or just hang out with your friends.  No one will know the difference if they are not starring and if your dress accidentally shows your feet for a quick second, since the go go slippers are colored like dress shoes no one will even notice if it is just a second.

Go Go slippers are an awesome idea and if for some reason you cannot find them for sale or don’t want to spend that much money on them, you can easily create your own gogo slippers at home.  All you need to do is buy a few pairs of satin or silk or regular ballet slippers.  Then you just need to buy the spray paint shoe polish in whatever color will match your outfits and spray the ballet shoes.  Then when they dry use a fixative on them so they don’t stain everything and you now have comfortable dress show colored and styled ballet shoes to give your feet a break from having to wear high heels all night.  Go Go Slippers are an awesome idea and the commercial was a great way for me to brainstorm how to help bring them to you all to help with your high heel foot pain issues.  I saw gogo slippers for sale here but they may not be available for long and you had to preorder them so if you really want a pair and cannot find them anywhere, try making your own gogo slippers by spraying ballet shoes with metallic colored shoe polishes and fixatives to keep the color on them.  I love gogo slippers and think that if you have ever had to have worn high heels for a long time you will love them too.

Relaxation Candle Gifts and Gift Candles

So I had a really rough week this week and was really depressed.  Not only did I do something stupid by letting things get to me but I almost let them get the best of me which is never a good thing to do.  There are always going to be bad weeks but if you let them get to you then your life is going to be miserable and there is absolutely no reason at all to ever have to feel horrible.  I ended up talking to a friend of mine who really helped to cheer me up.

He invited me out to the clubs with his friends and even though I am not going to go, it still really made me feel great to know that I still have friends and friends that care about me.  I think that for me tonight that although clubbing and being around friends would be very fun and relaxing, sometimes you need something else besides vodka and people.  Sometimes you just need some junk food, a comfortable robe or pajamas and some candles and wine.  I would like to remind everyone that wine and candles don’t mix well since candles use fire and wine causes drunkeness and can burn down your apartment or house, but with supervision and moderation it can be extremely relaxing and calming.

One thing that no matter what can make an amazing gift for someone are candles.  Scented candles aren’t always the best thing to give unless you know exactly what scents the person likes but regular candles, designer candles and floating candle bowls as long as you buy the bowl and a larger gift set to me aren’t always the best gift to get when you first get them, but on days like tonight when you are down and just want to relax you really appreciate the candle gifts and are thankful that you have them so that you can light them, enjoy a glass of wine and just completely put the week behind you.
