Using 4Square and Social Media to Propose Marriage

I was at a Marketing conference in NYC this past week and someone had set up a check in point as someone’s ass.  Ok, this was kind of funny because the place that you would check into the person’s ass was also the lunch and dining area of the show.  It was kind of funny and you could make a million jokes but it also got me thinking of a really sweet way to use social media to propose to someone you love.

Everyone has seen the Old Spice guy’s proposal and proposals over Twitter.  We have seen break ups and people getting engaged via facebook but I haven’t heard or seen much with weddings and engagements with 4 square.

Foursquare is a social media site that lets you log into locations and let everyone know where you are at.  If the location is unclaimed you can create a new one and as people go there they can find it and check in.  The more you check in the more badges you get.  You can become the mayor and the owner or the leader of locations as well and that got me thinking.  If you can open a location as someone’s ass why not open a location as someone’s heart? So here’s my thought on proposing to someone using four square.

Go to a restaurant or wherever you want to propose and set the location up as the person you are about to propose to’s heart.  Then when you are done eating dinner or when you are ready to ask that person to marry you, if they say yes you can check into their heart and if they say no you can check into their ass, j/k you can set up a different location.  Checking into someone’s heart or someone’s soul isn’t only sweet but it is romantic and will allow everyone who is following you or friends with you on four square to find out what your future fiance said.  It also allows them to contact you guys almost immediately and makes it so you don’t have to make a million phone calls to everyone to let them know.  The best part about checking into that person’s heart is that they will realize how romantic and creative you are and it will always make for a romantic and wonderful story that they can share with everyone and brag about.

I love the idea of using 4 square to check into someone’s heart as a way to get engaged and share it with all of your friends and family.  If you end up using this idea or want to comment and share, please feel free to let us know how it worked out by leaving a comment below.  You can also click the green tweet and retweet buttons to share this idea with your friends on twitter.

How to prepare a dinner table to propose to someone

So I was thinking, most people just don’t know how to properly set up the romance for a dinner where you plan on proposing to your partner and what I don’t get is why they can’t think of the perfect way to do it.  Regardless if you are doing it over a picnic, a restaurant or even at home under the stars or in your dining room, there are certain things that you should consider.

You are the one proposing so you really don’t care much what the person looks like, you love them and it will be romantic and absolutely magical for you, so don’t worry about what they are wearing and for a change trying to accent and compliment them.  Your job is to make it romantic and just as exciting for them.  This is why I recommend setting it up to accent your best traits, your best features and further make it magical for them so everything looks perfect and it is almost impossible for them to reject you.

The first thing is to pick an outfit that brings out your eyes.  You want your partner focusing on your eyes and seeing you love them.  Let them know that you are in love and let them see it in your eyes and the best thing to do is pick an outfit that brings out your eyes and also makes your skin glow.  It also doesn’t hurt to use some skin products and a couple masks before hand so your skin looks amazing too.  You may also want to find a hair style that helps to show them off as well.  Some people show off their eyes with long hair on their faces and others show off their eyes with their hair pulled back or even with an asymmetrical style.

After you pick the outfit and the hair, find a table cloth that doesn’t really have flashy bright colors, but one that will separate and be the polar opposite colors of your outfit.  If you’re wearing red use a dark blue or a green or deep red try a torquoise.  Your outfit will pop and since it doesn’t blend together your partners eyes will be able to separate you from the cloth and really see all of you, especially since your outfit shows off your body and best features.  The next thing is the centerpiece.

Find flowers that match you and your skin.  Don’t worry about the size or the color, but make sure it does not block the view of you or your outfit.  Make it low to the ground, contrast to your outfit but also match your skin to accent how delicate and gorgeous you are.  Also remember to try not to go with a very aromatic bouquet if you are going for your cologne or perfume and the scents from your meal to help set the mood.  You will also want to be careful with candles to make sure they don’t block the view across the table to show you off, but use the candles to frame you so when the person is talking to you they keep their eyes centered and focused on you.

Sit in your partner’s chair at the table and picture what you will look like on the other side.  Find the proper things that will not only accent you and your outfit, but give you that gorgeous celebrity, hollywood created fake reality that everyone dreams of and try to create the dream lover that you partner has always wanted.  By making it magical and accenting all of your best features, your chances of getting them to say yes are even better and they will always remember your proposal.  Your proposal is something they will always remember and tell all of their friends about so make sure you do everything to make it as special, romantic and thoughtful as possible.

If you have any other ideas or thoughts on how to set up the perfect way to accent yourself, music, scents, foods, etc… then please feel free to share them below in the comments section.
