One of my favorite things about winter wedding fashions is that winter wedding clothing is all about vintage styles and metallic clothing colors. You have to think and remember old styles in Hollywood from the 1920′s and Hollywood Glam and also 1970′s styled outfits as well. Think Victor Victoria or even of Catherine Zeta Jones and Renee Zellweger in Chicago styled clothing and gowns. You can also wear dark colored fur stoles or fake fur coats and jackets and you can also wear studio 54 styled 70’s disco clothing, but updated to be modern. Winter weddings are about classic and vintage and they are about showing up in layers of clothing that are able to let you change looks when you take one off and have a brand new look that you didn’t expect to have on underneath.
When you arrive at the wedding you want to show off the long fur coat or a fur shawl with a long trench coat. Try to have a silky or a satin lining inside the jackets or coats so that when you take it off to show a pencil styled skirt or piped gown or even just a layered or classic slinky styled metallic vintage Hollywood glamour gown, it’ll show it off and make everyone take a second glance. Nothing looks sexier than those types of gowns and hair styles against a silk lined coat.
If you aren’t into piping or pencil skirts and tops for winter weddings, you cannot go wrong with gowns and vintage styled dresses in metallic golds, silvers and bronze colors. Not only are these looks timeless and the colors ideal, but you also have a choice between gowns that are low cut in the back and have bottoms that flow together or define colors and fabrics in layers or you could always try to wear a vintage styled winter gown with petals or with layers or even just slinky fabric flowing down. Think of the gowns you would see on Marilyn Monroe or even on the fun blond girl who sings the Chicago song from the movie version of the Broadway show Victor Victoria.
For winter wedding hairstyles, I always love classic looking but modern vintage style with waves, curls and bobby pins. One thing you can also pull off with a vintage gown and theme are accents for your hair as well. Not only do these work well, but they are perfect for Winter Weddings. Think Madonna in Evita, that is the classic look and style that we are going for. Now lets go over Winter Wedding Jewelry.
The jewelry for Winter Weddings should be vintage styled but also have some sort of modern twists to it if you are not able to afford authentic vintage jewelry with gemstones.
If you can do antique jewelry and can afford the gems then you should try to stick to jewelry in golds and silvers that match the metallic gold and silver gowns that you are wearing. You also want to make sure that you don’t go modern but you wear vintage styled jewelry with a more modern feel so that your jewelry and outfit match and you don’t look out of place.
For gem stones, you’ll want to use emeralds or rubies to add in some color or if you are able to find dark purple amethysts, wear them to add in some color but make sure you have a large dark purple amathyst ring with a large stone as that is what will make amethyst and vintage metallics for together and look amazing. If you decide to go with emeralds and emerald earrings you’ll want to wear emerald bracelets or bracelets with emerald accents and if you want to wear rubies and ruby earrings, match your ruby earrings with a dark red ruby and yellow gold ring with gold metallic gowns. Do not match red rubies with silver gowns or wear them with silver jewelry for winter. It not only looks awful for winter weddings but it is rude to wear and not nice to do to the bride. It shows bitterness and anger towards the bride or married couple.
The other style that I love and that seems to work extremely well for winter weddings are the 1970′s styled clothing but with very modern twists, colors and fabrics. You can use the amazing lines and silhouettes and really cool shoes, you probably shouldn’t wear platforms or fishbowl shoes but you can follow the style of lines and really cool shapes by wearing shoes with cool backs and sides or even modern styled heals.
For jewelry, find vintage styled but updated jewelry because the 70′s are over and you don’t want to show up in full bell bottoms and hippy styled jewelry looking like you just did a ton o cocaine on a dancefloor. Instead, you could wear vintaged styled modern designs that are not only chic, but tie in the emo look and you’ll have a classic and fashionable winter wedding look.

Fall Wedding Invitations
Something that I love even more than fall wedding table decorations like leaves and vines are the fall wedding invitations. Not only do your fall wedding invitations help to create the look and feel for your fall wedding, but they also help to let everyone know how to plan for your wedding.
Unlike Summer weddings where everyone needs to wear light clothes, fall weddings and fall wedding clothing needs to be carefully planned depending on where you live and if your wedding is in early or late fall. For early fall you can wear light coats, shawls and fur stoles. For late fall weddings you go into trench coats, vintage styled clothing and you wear full length fur coats over fabulous vintage styled clothing. The thing about your wedding invitation is that it is a more important card than your save the date card because it is the one that not only announces you and your partner but also your wedding and date and the theme and colors.
Unlike Summer or Spring weddings, fall wedding invitations don’t have to match your wedding colors or themes. You can use fall and autumn colors and you can bring in nature like branches or leaves and gorgeous browns and reds and yellows. You can have off white backgrounds and colors in your fall wedding invitations and you can also incorporate your own fonts instead of traditional fonts. Fall wedding invitations are unique because they not only don’t have to follow your traditional wedding invitations with ribbons and birds but you can use images like branches, vines, leaves and other things that remind people of fall. The one thing you have to remember though is to include how to dress so that if you have an early fall wedding people know to wear an outfit that is light enough so they don’t sweat and if you are having a late fall wedding than you should tell them to dress warm because it can be cold in late fall. So I found out that my one friend who works for one of my favorite wedding vendors had parted ways with them and it kind of started my day out on a bad note. On a good note though he ended up going to work for a website that I had never heard of before called Waxing Poetic. Decoration ideas for fall weddings
Summer is going by way to fast and people are getting ready for their fall weddings. One thing I love about Summer is that you can combine themes or at least have themes like the beach or deep and rich flowers as opposed to the spring pastels and tulips, but when you start to get into Fall weddings things change.
Instead of having deep and rich greens you have some earthy tones like browns and dark reds. You trade in yellows and blues from the summer and end up using yellows and mustard colors. Instead of floral scents you get cinnamon and spices. Fall weddings are about warmth and bringing in the season instead of going out into it. The thing is that fall weddings get to do a lot more than others and get to have some of my very favorite wedding favors and flavors or scents with their wedding themes. In the Summer you an get away with cotton candy machines and lollipops for desserts and snacks at weddings. In the fall though you can actually take desserts and fall flavors and tie them into the meals. One of my favorite things to see at fall weddings are red candy apples and bride and groom caramel apples.
Not only do the red candy apples bring in the deep and rich red color of fall and make it blend nicely with your wedding, but they energize the wedding guests again by giving them sugar and the nutrients from the apple inside. Now I don’t recommend the huge ones because they are a mess and take forever to eat, but the mini candy apples for weddings are absolutely perfect for weddings. You can order one for each person and have them waiting at the tables at the reception. Another thing that I like to do with them is have everyone’s name on a ribbon or place card on their mini candy apple so they not only know which seat they get to sit in, but it also helps you to make sure that you got one for everyone. The next thing that I love about fall weddings is that you can bring the outside in.
Putting sticks and leaves on tables seems gross, especially during summer, but in the fall you will see orange, red and yellow leaves on tables as decor and even vines that are dried and cleaned as decorations in the flower arrangements and on the tables. Fall weddings let you bring nature back into the wedding and for some reason people seem to think that having fall colored leaves and vines is classy and looks great instead of thinking they are dirty and tacky. I love being able to bring the season into the wedding as it not only adds to the theme but it also makes you feel more comfortable.
Fall wedding favors are also some of my favorites. Instead of spring weddings where you give out flower seeds or bloem boxes which most people just end up throwing away, you get to order and give out wedding favors that are actually useful and that people may end up keeping. A few of my favorite fall wedding favors include Real Maple Syrup, Maple and Cinnamon scented leaf shaped hand soaps and turning lead bookmarks. Fall favors are earthy and warm feeling and usually things that are practical. You can also easily tie wine into your fall wedding theme since wine colors are also very fall oriented and so are other types of liquors.
Although I’m not personally a smoker, Cigars and cigar accessories also scream fall wedding. They may stink but many men and women enjoy having a cigar with a glass of liquor and if you set up a cigar area and stand at your fall wedding they will flock to it. Fall is the perfect time to enjoy a scented cigar and an aged glass of scotch, whiskey or brandy. Summer weddings are to hot and Winter weddings are to cold outside to have a cigar bar. Spring weddings are about fresh and clean smells and looks so Fall weddings are really the only time you can have a full cigar bar and have it blend into your wedding perfectly.
Fall weddings are definitely some of my favorites because of all of the flavors, colors and scents that you get to use. I love browns and earth tones and love tying them into weddings. If you’re having a fall wedding, don’t be afraid that you have to have everything white. Bring in some browns and other fall colors and let them help create the warm look and feel of your fall wedding. Fall weddings are my favorites because of how you can bring the outdoors in and because fall fashions are some of the most versatile and easy to wear clothing since you will be dressed for comfortable temperatures and for night time.

Heart Shapen Chocolates Heart Shaped Chocolate Favors
Ok, it is almost Valentines Day and that also means all of the Valentine’s Day Wedding Favors and heart shaped everything. Now although doing a Valentine’s Wedding is sweet but also kind of overdone, and can ruin a Valentine’s Day if for some reason you ever split up, one thing I do love is that when I think of Valentine’s Day I think of Chocolate.
Not only do I think of Chocolate, but I also think of Hearts and a perfect reason to be able to break your diet with a ton of really bad food like Dips, Spreads, Carbs and everything else you aren’t supposed to eat when you are on a diet. What better day to break the Diet rules to either celebrate with the one you love or Celebrate being Single and eat tons of fatty foods and Garlic. What better reason to also celebrate your wedding and let everyone else who wants to eat tons of bad food break their diets and celebrate with you by eating tons of fatty foods and carbs.
Anyways, with Valentine’s Day and Weddings both giving you the perfect reason to eat chocolate and be tacky with hearts, I wanted to share a few different heart shaped chocolate wedding favors and heart shaped chocolate candies.

Perfect Wines for a Spring or Summer Weddings
Ok, I had a couple of wines over the last couple days that were above and beyond amazing. They were also absolutely perfect for spring and summer weddings. Neither of them were heavy or thick, neither were over powering, but both of them had so much flavor, taste, great body and color and amazing aromas. They also had about the perfect kick alcohol wise to keep you standing but also give you enough courage to go out on the dance floor and shake your booty.
Now, even if you normally don’t like chardonnays or cabarnets, you have to try these two. Not only are they amazing, but they are perfect for people with all pallets and tastes and can match just about any meal from Chicken to Steak to Fondue. Anyways, here are my two favorite wine picks for Spring and Summer weddings. (Even though Stefano Farina’s Barolos didn’t make it on this list, they were a very close call for the red choice. The second runner up for whites was an amazing sauvignon blanc, but they also ran out of the wine so it is almost impossible to get so I didn’t include it.)
Edna Valley Vineyards Chardonnay 2006
This is the Edna Valley Chardonnay 2006. It comes in a yellow tinted bottle and the foil around the top is a nice spring and summer yellow to tie into the wedding season.
The wine is an amazing chardonnay and unlike most chardonnays, the Edna Valley Vineyards Chardonnay from 2006 first seems like it is going to be a medium to heavy body, but when you drink it and taste it going down your throat, it is actually extremely light and flowery.
Although I didn’t taste it as a very oaky wine, my friend Mike definitaly commented on the oaky taste so I am assuming it is there for some people. The thing that we both loved about this 2006 Edna Valley Chardonnay though is the amazing vannila explosion that you get a few seconds after you swallow this chardonnay. The taste of this wine is soo explosive it is insane.
We served it chilled but also let is air for about 20 to 30 minutes. We then poured it into titanium high grade wine glasses that I got from one of the wine stores listed below and we also let the bottle sit out instead of keeping it chilling in an ice bucket.
It starts out with a nice chardonnay fruity flavor, I kept getting a hint of flowers and floral aromas when I was drinking it, but the most suprising and amazing thing about this chardonnay was the explosive vanilla flavor at the end.
It wasn’t overpowering or to strong, but it just comes out of no where and leaves this amazing taste in your mouth for a good few seconds. Even though I normally do not like vanilla wines, this one is a must have and the taste, flavor, body, legs, aromas, bottle design, etc… make it the most amazing and seriously perfect white wine and chardonnay for spring and summer weddings.
mayacamas cabernet
This is probably the most fabulous and amazing cabarnet I have ever had. Then again I am extremely partial to it since I have so many good memories that come with drinking the bottle.
The first time I had ever tried the Mayacamas Cabarnet I was with my Dad and we were finally talking after a long time of avoiding each other. This wine always reminds me of when we were talking and found out we have a ton of things in common like wine, cooking and we actually have a lot of the same hobbies.
I remember hanging out with my friends and opening a bottle of the Mayacamas Cabarnet, pouring it through my Decanter and letting it breath, then explaining why it is important and showing them what it tastes like before it breathes and then again after to try and convert them into whinos as well.
Anyways, this wine is extremely special to me and everyone who I have ever served the Mayacamas Cabarnet to has unanimously agreed it is one of the best cabarnets and reds that they have ever tasted. It is a bit on the pricey end for a large wedding, but if you don’t mind spending the extra money on a wine for your wedding, this is one to definitely consider, at least for the bridal party, groomsmen and your parents.

Amazing Roses for Brides and Wedding Centerpiece Designs
Ok, it is freezing here in Washington DC right now. Way to cold to even go to brunch or the grocery store, heck it is even to cold to want to look out the window. The cold probably wouldn’t be as bad though if it wasn’t for all of the wind, so instead of writing and talking or typing about gorgeous winter weddings and how I love winter weddings, mainly because I do, and so instead of reminding myself of the thing I hate most about winter, that it is freezing outside, I wanted to talk about something warmer and a bit more full of life so I decided the perfect warmer thing to post about would be flowers and flower designs.
I can easily see glass fishbowls and glass vases coming back for centerpieces this spring and summer and love the thought of avoiding all dark red roses since those are completely 1980′s and 1990′s, and going with colored roses again to match the decorations, the seasons, sticking with all of the white flowers again, etc… I searched through a new vendor that I have never actually worked with or ordered from before, but I did fall in love with some of their designs for wedding bridal rose bouquets and wedding rose centerpiece designs.
Not only are their designs modern and gorgeous, but they also feel classic to me so they can match any type of wedding from classy and traditional to modern and minimalistic. The best part about the flowers at this new vendor is that their bridal bouquet design and rose centerpiece designs are completely affordable compared to other flower vendors so as we are pulling out of this crappy economy, this vendor should be one to definitely look at shopping with through this blog post so I get credit for the referral too (=0)) and so that you can leave a comment here about how your roses arrived and your experience with this flower vendor since I haven’t worked with them yet or before.
Anyways I love their designs from their sites and the way that it looks from the images I saw, and even though I have never used them before, I found them in my friend’s wedding network of Vendors so I am going to give a shot recommending them. Let me know how they worked with you and for your wedding if you go through them. I love their bridal bouquet designs and rose centerpiece designs and if you like something that works for everything modern to traditional, you’ll love these roses as well.
On another note, even though i am over red roses for weddings, save them for the bedroom and honeymoon, I am still including a couple of red rose bouquets because I know that even though I don’t like them, many people still do and one thing I always tell people that I give advice to with their weddings is that it isn’t my wedding. It isn’t your Mom’s wedding and it isn’t your friend’s wedding. It is your wedding and if something you have always wanted at your wedding is red roses, you should have them, just know that they may not work for everyone, but the only one that matters for your wedding is you and your partner. So even though I am not a fan of red roses for weddings, I am including a couple boquets for you in case you like them and want them for your wedding.
